We cannot speak from personal experience about the Tower because when we tried to visit on April 1, 2025, a sign was posted on the locked door, stating “The Old Post Office Tower is temporarily closed. We do not know what time when the tower will reopen. Please call 202-426-6841 for status updates. We apologize for any inconvenience.” This notice didn’t appear on their website, which would have been nice to warn visitors about beforehand. In any case, a friend (and D.C. resident) had told us the tower is pretty cool, so I will rate it 5 stars simply because I have to rate it in order to post this information. The first floor is a pretty cool little hallway museum. And there are park rangers who help every step of the way!
We walked in with our stroller, but then you have to leave it with security before you take the elevator. Security will check out bags.

Fair warning, though it was extremely hard to find the entrance to the Bell tower as it was tucked away in the back of the Waldorf Astoria. I did make a video below to show you how to get in. When you walk in there are restrooms and a security check from there. You take an elevator. There was a short line.
