Where do I start. I consider myself a Fogo connoisseur. I have been coming to various Fogos for over 20 years and this is only my second bad experience, but they both happened at two different Fogos in the past year, which says something. My favorite Fogo has always been the Penn Quarter/Downtown DC location and needless to say, I was not at the Downtown location the first time I had a bad experience, but this time I was.
Now, I have been to Fogo three times in the last six months alone, which goes to show how much I love it. Now, I have been to Fogo on Valentine's Day at least a dozen times or more, and this is the first time my service was not the greatest. The lady manager said well, it's Valentine's Day, and we have a lot of ppl here and waiters have a lot of tables, well maybe adjustments need to happen on days like this and Valentine's Day happens the same time every year and I have been in Fogo on Valentine's Day plenty of times before so no let's not use that as an excuse.
I have sat in every area of this restaurant over the years, including upstairs, and what I have noticed is that if you sit anywhere near the front of the retaraunt towards the doors or in one of the corners the service sucks. You need to sit by the buffet or where they come out of the kitchen with the food to get what you want.
The waiter we started off with never came back after I asked to speak to the manager. Why did I ask for the manager, well if you get the full experience, the waiters are supposed to come around with the meat. And the waiter whobisbtaking care of you is supposed to at least drop by and ask if you want something to drink. Luckily, I got a drink at the bar before I went to my table or I would have been drinkless and nobody asked if we wanted another $17 drink as I probably would have ordered a few more. So, those not familiar, the thing is, the meat waiters they rarely make it to the front of the restaurant. I had to ask more than a few times for meat and one time, they told me that they had to cook some more lamb chops and they finally came back with them about 20 minutes or so later. I asked for refills of the sides since it was a few of us at our table sharing one plate of each side ie the mash potatoes etc and after maybe 20 minutes or so after me asking another waiter I finally got it at the same time the manager came by and I asked who he was, but the thing with that is by the time it got to our table it was luke warm to the cold side.
After the first round of the salad bar, the waiter came by to ask if he could get us a clean plate. He took the plate and he never came back so we had to go and get new plates ourselves and he never asked us for the rest of our stay at the restaurant which was about 90 minutes or so, if we needed anything else. I literally asked about 10 times for water from various people. Water! It should not be that hard to get water.
We finally started to get meat and water from the Asst. Manager Hermes who then took care of us and apologized and he came back to make sure we were getting everything we needed after the fact of about almost an hour into us sitting at a table and waiting for various things.
Lastly, the cut the meatnon the table and literally of the crumbs off the meat was then on our table that they left and we had to sweep it off ourselves. So needless to say, my Valentine's dinner with friends was not that great of an experience, and we are the ones who keep bringing them back to this restaurant. Six months ago was their first time ever at Fogo. So, needless to say, they were a little disappointed as well, but at least Hermes gave us a free dessert to try and make up for it. I included a picture of my table after we tried to wipe some of the crumbs from the...
Read moreGood morning, I am leaving this review with great disappointment. My AirPods Pro were left at Fogo de Chão on Sunday before new years when we were dinning. I came back the same night but the restaurant was closed, I left a message same night to come back for them in the morning. I did not received a call back, I call the restaurant and I was told they would look into it but I didn’t received a call back. A day after my husband went to the restaurant with my phone to try to find them but the manager told him that it would take her about 2 hours to look for it that he needed to wait of course he couldn’t stay that long. He wasn’t given the option to start looking with the option “find”. I’m writing this for negligence with a customer due to AirPods been there for a long time and almost a day and a half after someone moved them from Fogo de Chao. I have called several times to received help but I was lied by a manager by the name “May” she told me that will call back and didn’t call, also told me will tell other managers to help us find them, the name of the Manager she was trying to contact is Ramiro and when I spoke to Ramiro on Wednesday he didn’t even know what was going on, he told me the same thing that l speak to managers. Today is Friday and have not received a call back. Both told me on Wednesday that it is not their responsibility that the AirPods were not returned to lost and found but how come they disappear after that long time from there? It make sense to be lost right away the same day, I would understand but almost a day and a half there. The manager “May” was very sarcasm even say “I don’t know if they are going to compensate you with anything, money or anything” I wasn’t looking for money I just needed help finding my belonging, I have screenshots of the AirPods at the restaurant since day 1. Manager Rodrigo said we can’t look into the cámaras and I don’t know who can. I had to file a police report since the AirPods couldn’t move from fogo de chao to any other place by themselves. I have visited this restaurant for years and even order online, this is very disappointing because I can’t even do business with this place anymore. The way I was treated trying to get help and the way they just disregard helping a customer who spend $700+ that night. After we paid we were no...
Read moreMade a reservation for my daughters 10th birthday thinking this was a "fancy" fine dining experience. Yikes was I wrong.
The menu is confusing. Order some food, get a card, flip it for food? Ok. Then we get offered food by one of these people and we dont even have plates. So I say "oh we dont have plates so I guess no thank you". The waitress looked at me like I had 2 heads and basically walked away. Made zero attempt to get plates or to have an available person do so.
I ordered a crab cake. I SINCERELY hope there's no eggs in it because it cake to the table stone cold.
Husband had food from the "buffet"....really a glorified charcuterie board. Everything was again weird temperatures. Bacon was cold, some of it was so heavily spiced it took your breath away some had zero seasoning.
A manager approached our table ti finally clear away our buffet plate that had been sitting for a while and asked if the crab cake wasn't to my liking. I explained it was cold and inedible. He told me he would take it off the bill. That never happened. Instead they took off my kids iced tea drink?
My kid sat with an empty drink for half the meal. I finally asked for a refill and got one. Our meat was served table side. The girl asked if we wanted sauce. I asked twice what was in it. She just nodded and said "I'll just put it on the side"....wait....what? I asked what was in it?
Overall I left thoroughly disappointed. The budget is set aside for my kids "fancy 10th birthday dinner" is gone, I literally ate 2 bites of cold crab cake and one slice of the meat that was served. My kid ate bacon and bread. We paid $160 for dinner and ive never been so upset.
We went to Waffle House on our way to this vacation. Our food was good but not stellar. It was however HOT, FRESH AND SERVED BY A WAITRESS WHO CARES ABOUT HER CUSTOMERS AND JOB. She cleared our plates, filled our drinks, talked my kid, and gave us great food. I topped 65% on that meal.
I paid 4x for my meal at Fogo De Chao and I can promise you I tipped far less than I tipped for a road trip breakfast.
Now to figure out where I'm going to take my kid for the fine dining experience her 10th birthday vacation deserves. She defend deserved better than she got tonight. I'm disgusted I paid for...
