Updated to a 4 star review...

After posting this review, the manager of the spa contacted me directly. She let me know she was addressing the specific issues that I mentioned, including on the website specifically stating what type of massage this is.

I'm very impressed. If I'm in the DC area again, I will be giving this spa another try because of the incredible customer service and professionalism from management. Original review:

Their "signature" massage cannot be a deeper massage, even if you prefer it that way. Look up the cost of an hour massage, then add a TWENTY percent automatic tip!!!!

At this price point, with that kind of tip they should offer whatever type of massage you would like.

Before she started, she told me "a signature massage is like a swedish massage." Okay ... then call it a swedish massage! The stupid name makes it sound like you get to choose your massage.

I should have just left right then. I consider this false advertising.

Although the slight rub down is not worth the price, the facilities are really nice! That's the reason there are stars at all.

You change into a luxurious robe. I'm a 3x/4x plus size woman, and they had my size! I was super grateful and impressed. Not many places accommodate plus size people.

They have a relaxation room where you get to lay down in some private loungers or a chair by the fountain. You can stay as long as you want! It was glorious!!

They provide cucumber water, some snacks, a place where you can shower.

The steam room was a huge disappointment! It's not hot at all. It only stays on for 20 minutes, then automatically turns off.

So by the time you go turn it on, the marble that you are sitting on is super cold, and it stays that way, even 15 minutes later. I gave up on it after 15 minutes. I wanted to just lay down on one of those lounges.

That is NOT a steam room. It's a really overpriced humidifier. I was hoping for a real steam room to get my body ready for...

I actually had 2 gift certificates brought by my husband for my birthday. He said I could use both on same day or over two days. Being a mother of two year old twins I decided over two days as not had a spa in over 3 years and this certainly was a treat and much needed . I had a choice of a massage or facial. I had my first massage and voucher included a welcome drink of champagne I was never offered this. Anyway day two I again booked the massage. I arrived 2 and. quarter hours early I handed my voucher over. This time again no drink was offered so I asked for it. When I went to check out they advised me my voucher was not for a massage but was for pedicure and manicure. Confusing but partly my fault cause my husband told me they were the same. I was told to either pay full cost of massage or 165 dollars or the difference. Well being now a stay at home mum I could not eat afford it so had to pay the difference which was $ 50 plus the tip. Yes was partly my fault but I had handed the voucher in 2 and a quarter hours before I even entered the room and no one told me if they did I would not if had thecmassage . I feel like they should of checked this properly at check in and is also partly their fault which they took no blame for. I love Ivanka Trump which is why my husband brought this for me. I felt so relaxed at the spa but when this happened and all the way home I felt so let down and sad and stressed $80 dollars that now I have to explain to my...

I called to make a "couples experience" reservation for my birthday at the spa at the Waldorf Astoria. I spoke with Melody who said she would call and see if she could line up a second massage therapist for the experience the morning of the 28th. I was called back, and had my appointment confirmed for 10am on the 28th after giving my payment information over the phone. Everything was dandy. Then I got a call a couple of hours later and was told that the appointment was double booked and that I had to move my time or be placed in separate rooms - which obviously defeats the purpose of a couple's massage. I am failing to understand how a second massage therapist was called to accommodate MY appointment request for 10am on the 28th (which was then booked and confirmed) and all the sudden someone else gets to benefit from my appointment request while I get pushed off to the side with an "I'm sorry". I wanted to make my birthday special and experience this spa treatment at this luxury establishment and am completely disappointed with the experience I just had. The treatment I received was far from what I expect at a place like the...

My hubby got me a ritual package for my first Mother’s Day at the spa. Came here on a Saturday and it was busy to the point that some of my things got delayed or forgotten (at least that is how it felt to me). Communication goes a long way. Came here an hour before my massage like the package says for a self guided portion of hydro something. This part got delayed and I ended up only doing 30 minutes of it instead of the hour, at least that is how I felt. By the time I got my tea it was my time for a massage, but the masseuse gave me a moment to finish my tea. We started the massage which was wonderful. I’d go back for this alone. After the massage I was taken back to the lounge area to relax until the final portion which was the salt room. It felt like I waited forever so I finally said something. Apparently there was a large party before me, which to me felt like I was forgotten about. I wasn’t able to do the full 30 minutes because I had to go home to get ready for my evening plans, I was only able to do 15 minutes. Basically for the $495 package the only thing worth it was the massage.

This spa is so cute! They have the best selection of snacks and drinks. My husband and I had the 90 minutes couples massage and we both loved it. Then we had facials and I had a pedicure. All the ladies were so good at their jobs and super attentive to your needs. I purchased some products from the line Ivanka uses. Will be back.

The spa is beautiful and the service is even better! Jennifer is a knowledgeable and great esthetician. I can’t wait to come back! On another note, Marcus is AMAZING! His service and communication is unmatched. Highly recommend as your spa choice in DC.
