Our group was very disappointed by our experience. When I first walked in, there was loud Disney music blasting and no one sitting at the desk. We turned off the music so that the staff can hear the bell and was reprimanded for it. They then proceeded to continue to blast loud Disney music. They only turned it down slightly when explaining our room. The lady that explained the room did not seem very excited or interested.
We started our room and immediately ran into a roadblock. We were doing the submarine room and were entering the correct order of the food chain. It appears either someone wasn’t paying attention or the puzzle was broken as the chest never unlocked. This wasted several minutes of our time until finally the code we had been entering worked. The rest of the experience was lacking and frustrating. The submarine room relied heavily on a very poorly run video game. There were no puzzles you could do at the same time and we often had many people standing around waiting for a turn to do a puzzle. The whole experience was not pleasant and the only reason I had fun was because we got to laugh about how bad the escape room is. I will not be going a this location again and will try and stay away from other local chains...
Read moreCustomer service is lacking. After frequenting Escape the Room many times over the last few years with other adults, I called to see if I would need to purchase a ticket for my 4-year-old to tag along with our group today. A very rude man answered the phone, cut me off and started to answer my question before I could even get it out, and then when I tried to finish my question he cut me off saying he had other people on the line and would need to call me back. It’s one thing to pick up the phone and place a customer on hold to attend to other customers, but he literally answered and said “Hi! Escape the Room DC” in which I said hello and asked my question.
I then called the number for the other location in DC (not realizing that the phone numbers route to the same person) and he picked up the phone with a deep annoyed sigh saying “I said I would call you back”.
That left such a bad taste in my mouth. I was excited to try another room with family that is in town visiting, but I will take my business to another escape room in the area...
Read moreI had an incredible time at Escape Room Name in DC! The room was challenging, creative, and full of clever puzzles that kept us engaged from start to finish. The theme was immersive, and every detail added to the overall experience.
This was also an excellent activity for team building! Working together to solve puzzles and beat the clock really brought out the best in everyone, making it both fun and rewarding.
A special shoutout to Steph and Chelley, who went above and beyond to make our visit memorable. Their friendly and professional demeanor set the tone for a great adventure. They provided just the right amount of guidance when we needed it, ensuring we stayed on track without giving too much away.
