At Home — Attraction in Wauwatosa

This is a dual edge sword kind of place. Awesome prices, cool stuff but the store was a disaster! I mean a disaster. It looked like a Department Store at the end of the day on Black Friday. Carpets were strewn all over the floor, furniture was everywhere in the aisles, picture frames were in such disarray that we didnt even attempt that aisle. It was truly the worst I have ever seen. And I worked at Target for 6 years and was there for every black friday in the electronics department...can you say stampede? I was so frustrated shopping there that I started to straighten up some of the aisles, to which my sisters yelled at me and said, "Remember your not paid to do that anymore!" I just couldn't help myself. It was that bad. When we checked out, there were piles of products in carts all around the registers. We mentioned the issue at check out and the cashier said, "Thats just the way it is. We only have 4 people working in the entire store" I was shocked seeing that the store was huge and couldn't possibly be kept up by 4 people!! The corporate office needs to seriously review the staffing situation. Many of my friends would have walked out and not come back. Too bad because they really do have...

Every time I go to this store, I ask myself why I don’t come here more often. There is such a vast selection of products to fit any aesthetic. The store is large, but they do a good job with the layout, which is generally organized and well labeled throughout the store. All of the products I’ve purchased have been of good quality and are competitively priced. They also have fantastic sales on a rotating basis and clearance items throughout the store. I’ve found the employees to be helpful if I have any questions and they are good with returns. I’m often confused as to why there aren’t more people shopping when I’m there, but I usually go later at night and it’s a bit further down from the Mayfair madness, so maybe that plays a part. Regardless, I’ve always enjoyed browsing at my leisure, love that they’re open until 10 (9 on Sundays), and it’s not creepy quiet because they have nice music playing from the speakers. My sisters had the worst experience with the so called manager Chris tonight at the Wauwatosa location. I purchased some items a few weeks back and live 3 hours away. I asked if my sister could return/exchange some rod curtains that were purchased a few weeks back when she came to visit me. I misplaced the receipt and needed shorter rods. The store policy says items can be returned for store credit without a receipt and Chris was not aware of this. We weren’t trying to cheat At Home, we just wanted shorter rods. He definitely made a big deal about it and after looking at the policy, he kept saying “I can still deny this transaction” NOT ONCE, BUT TWICE. Maybe he was having a bad day, but how rude!!! I would have never given this review, but his customer service SUCKS! Will not shop at this location in the future so this review has to go up.
