We went to Universal Studios Hollywood for the first time on 12/3/2024. We are huge Harry Potter fans and went here specifically for the Wizarding World of Harry Potter!!! I don't go on roller coasters because i get easily nauseous and cannot tolerate drops, so I could not ride this, but my son and husband both went on it. My husband said the hippogriff was very well done. The ride itself was fast both in speed and in duration - so he said it was hard to take in the scenes and actually enjoy it. My husband felt that if the ride was just a little slower in speed, then you could have really enjoyed everything. My son did not like how fast it was, so I don't know why people online said this was a rollercoast for babies (maybe they are just used to things more intense for adults only). A friend of ours said this ride made him more sick than any other ride at USH, which is...
Read moreThis ride is over pretty quick. It’s an outdoor roller coaster geared to the elementary school age kiddos. (Minimum height 39”). Don’t get me wrong, adults can ride it, I had fun riding it. Top speed is 29 mph. But it’s a short track and it’s over in two loops. As I was waiting in the queue, I heard so many riders ask “is that it?” when the ride ended, I asked the same thing. Be forewarned, if you’re stoked about this small coaster, it ends quickly, like under a minute. Despite the abrupt ending, the ride’s fun! Plus, it’s funny when first timers are on, because you hear a similar remark each time, “Wait, that’s it?!”
We lucked out with timing since we never waited more than 10mins. The first time we rode (this was always our second ride at Rope Drop after Forbidden Journey), and Cast Members let us stay in our seats and go around a second time since there was no line.
Yes, it’s short, but it’s fun, so don’t miss out, especially for all you Harry Potter fans!
*If you’re motion sickness prone, you should be ok to ride this...
