Read moreWhile I have lived here in town for most of my life, the area has degenerated, with hate, harassment, and bad vibes. In just the last month or so, I seem to have been the target of senseless harassment and hate. Once while doing some sunset photography, some other people with cheap cameras approached and began to cause me fear of spoiling my photos and video. I asked one not to get into my picture, and she responded with some hateful rant. Returning then with her male companion, he proceeded to try to spoil my video by putting himself into my picture, pointed at the sunset. Not wishing to provoke their violence, I stayed quiet, knowing how such people are. Another time I was doing the same, recording the sunset when some big kid began to harass me with accusations, causing me to fear for my safety. Today, three thugs moved to bluff attack a woman, and then as I was walking by some guy on a bench, he demanded to know what was going on at Raley Field across the river. I said, "Can't you look it up in the paper?" He responded that he wasn't that kind of guy or something, so I said, "I don't know, I'm not the news." He shouted "F* you," totally uncalled for, and typical of the sick profanity and pure hate violence that permeates Sacramento culture.
There will no peace for citizens wishing to enjoy the Riverwalk in a law-abiding manner. Hateful and vicious malcontents have found this locale, to hate, harass, and destroy. It used to be a nicer place, but drugs or what have turned it bad. You can't tell anymore who's into toxic chemicals, it's universal. Then there's groups who hike here, to spread their hate and force people out of their way by their threatening collisions and other violence. Other towns are much friendlier, with civic pride. On a wrecked boat along the river shore, the hate graffiti spells it all. No one will remove or paint over the racist hate. Beware, hate is supported by law, and attacks on whomever law-abiding citizens won't be met with any...
Read moreGrowing up in San Francisco, I became very attached to the Golden Gate Bridge, whose beacons I could see from the upper floor of my home. When we moved to the Sacramento Valley, I was unprepared to become fond of Tower Bridge. It leads directly onto Capitol Avenue, so one sees the Capitol building from the roadway, charmingly framed by the bridge, which is much more gold in tone than the red-orange Golden Gate Bridge. Inconvenient though it sometimes can be (especially if one has theater tickets), it is lots of fun to see the raising and lowering of the drawbridge. Another reviewer commented on seeing the river's rise under the bridge during major storms. Winter 2016 offered opportunities to comprehend the massive change in river levels over days and weeks. We seriously thought the water might reach the roadbed. We didn't know tours were available, so will add to this review after...
