Very Frustrating Experience with Long Radio - Defective Remote Starter
Iâve been to Long Radio five times now for the same issue with my remote starter, and I am beyond frustrated. Each time, I lose work hours and waste gas money to drive there, and not once have they offered any compensation for the inconvenience. Theyâve programmed the starter multiple times, but each time the problem comes back within a week. The remote starter wonât turn on the car or open the doors, and all they do is reprogram it temporarily. This last time, they insisted everything was replaced, but the issue persists. At this point, Iâm struggling to believe I got a defective product twice.
The lack of resolution and apparent disregard for my time and frustration is unacceptable. I just want a refund so I can take my business elsewhere. It's clear to me that they either donât care about fixing the issue or donât know how to. I wouldnât recommend this place to anyone, and Iâll be seeking a new solution.
Edit: Unprofessional Service and Attempted Manipulation
I received a call from Long Radio Auto, where they questioned my negative review and claimed I didnât give them a chance to fix the problem, despite tomorrow being my fifth trip to address the same issue. The person seemed more focused on the review than my ongoing inconvenience. Earlier, I had requested a refund and for everything to be removed from my car, to which he responded, âWe can't do that.â However, now it appears theyâre willing to refund me only if I delete my review.
He even told me, âWeâll refund the money, but you have to delete the review right in front of us,â which is absolutely insane. A review reflects my entire experienceânot just the product, but the service as well. I have the right to share my experience, regardless of whether the issue is resolved. In fact, a refund at any point would've avoided the one-star review in the first place. I had planned to update my review once the matter was fully addressed, but this interaction only further confirms how poorly this situation has...
Read moreBack in the late 80's I had Long Radio in Hadley install a Pioneer Supertuner in my Thunderbird and it was perfect. So when I was looking for a remote start for my current 'working K9 van' Long Radio was a natural place to go. Fortunately for me I recieved a top of the line remote start, LCD key fob, and the Drone mobile app subscription service system for my birthday and I went to Long Radio in West Springfield. I was delighted that Long Radio, 30 years later, once again did not disappoint!!
They are efficient, knowledgeable, and willing to answer any and all questions. Truly, they are ALWAYS willing to answer questions when I call. They either know the answer already, go get a tech to speak to me directly, or they go ask and bring me an answer every single time. I never get 'we'll call you later' the sort it then and there and if I need an appt they put me in as fast as they can or they tell just to pop over and they'll take a quick look. When I needed a modification they did it on a 'pop over when you can' basis and at no charge!! They even put a safety sticker on my engine when I asked for a particular system by-pass as I have some special needs with my system because of the working dogs.
They always find or try to find a way to adjust the system to what I need or clearly explain why something is happening, like the doors in the Honda lock and then unlock and then lock again during remote start up, which has to do with Honda's internal check system not with the unit we installed. If you're looking to get a system installed and want a company that's going to be around decades later and who are kind, helpful, cheerful, and go the extra mile to help you then look no farther than Long Radio. The person we often speak to is Dave and, although they're all great, he has a really solid breadth of knowledge, especially regarding Honda systems. The next time we need another remote start installed we'll go there. PS: even the Honda dealer recommended Long Radio to my best friend when she needed a remote start and they did a great...
Read moreI had an old cm4000 compustar remote start system in my 08 Impreza that had no remote. I visited long radio in hopes they might be able to simply get me a remote to make this system work. Unfortunately after trying out a few remotes and also even a new antenna for no cost we had no luck. So we talked about removing the old system that was over 10 years old and installing professionally a new one. It did come in a bit of a price but it was well worth it. I spent just over 1100 but got all the bells and whistles. Tilt alarm, glass brake alarm, remote start, doors and trunk controls, 2 way remote with a ridiculous distance to lock and unlock or start the car, phone controls and notifications, and even an LCD displaying remote. The removal of the old system cleaned up so many random engine wires and a janky siren and honestly I just feel a bit safer knowing if someone goes to mess with my car or steal my wheels I'll know immediately. Oh also I have gps locations for where my car is and ambient internal car temperature display, and battery voltage monitor as well as having faults displayed on my phone. The system I chose is the q9 set up and it's well worth it. The staff were very friendly and super helpful. The were very informative of what to do to set my car up for remote start features. Oh I almost forgot to mention, my Impreza is a 5 speed manual so it's not just a simple as long as it's parked it can be started. You need to put it in a mode know as reserve mode which will seem odd until you get used to it but super smart so you can't just start it in gear and send the car off running. This was definitely a good investment and I highly recommend you go here if you are in the market for a alarm/ security system or remote starter. I worked with David at the front desk and he was very friendly and knew what he was...
