A Salon That Has No Empathy for Women or Mothers
This review is long overdue. If I could give this salon negative 10 stars, I would.
I rarely take time for myself since I’m running a small business, managing a household, and raising my daughter entirely on my own without family or childcare support. For four years, I have not had a single break. Not an hour to myself, not a weekend off. Every appointment I attend, whether doctors, dentists, or beauty services, has always welcomed my daughter with kindness and understanding.
So for my birthday last year, I finally carved out a small moment to do something for myself. I drove a long way to this salon, excited for what was supposed to be a little bit of pampering. My daughter was just as happy, dancing in excitement before we even got started. She always sits quietly during appointments, never causing a problem.
But the moment I sat in the chair, the owner called my stylist and had her kick us out. (I have always brought my daughter to previous appointments with this stylist at a different salon—this was nothing new.)
No conversation. No compassion. Just immediate dismissal.
I was in tears, my daughter was devastated, and I had to sit in the car explaining to a child why people can be so cruel. Meanwhile, the other stylists just looked me up and down with smug expressions, never offering a kind word or even basic respect.
I went back that Sunday after debating it only to not let my stylist down. (They made me leave my daughter at home and thankfully her dad was able to take care of her on this day) But the owners? It’s disgraceful how they treat others, especially as parents themselves. I refuse to support unkind and vile people with no compassion toward others. They should be ashamed of themselves, especially since they have children of their own. I wonder how they would feel if their own kids were treated with the same coldness and exclusion.
I never returned after that and found a welcoming salon with kind, professional people who now do both my daughter’s and my hair at the same time! It’s a world of difference where we feel valued instead of like an inconvenience.
It’s sad to see a business that claims to empower women operate with such coldness and superiority, turning away a mother on her own birthday. Some of us don’t have the luxury of childcare. Some of us are completely alone with no support. And yet, rather than showing even an ounce of grace, they chose to humiliate and exclude. It was shameful to be kicked out as if I were a criminal, like I had done something wrong, especially with the way the other stylists looked at me.
Hey Chad and Courtney!! I hope you never find yourselves in a position where you are struggling, exhausted, and just hoping for a moment of kindness—only to be turned away and humiliated. I hope your boys never experience the kind of coldness and exclusion that you showed my daughter. I honestly don’t know how you sleep at night treating parents and children this way.
Sometimes, you need to get off your high horse and realize that not everyone has the same privileged life you do. Maybe you had help, maybe things were easier for you but not everyone has that luxury. Some of us face real struggles every day, and a little kindness and humility would go a long way especially in business.
A salon should be a place of empowerment, kindness, and grace. This place, however, offers none of that.
From business owner to business owner—your customers should come first and should feel comfortable and welcomed.
If you value businesses that treat people with respect and basic human decency,...
Read moreI went here and saw the owner I believe (Courtney) for extensions. We did not discuss any prices prior to the appointment but I did get a few different quotes over the phone but was told it depends on the level of stylist I see. Etc. etc... Once we checked out she had said my total and it brought everything over $2000 for three packs of hair, an installation and a deep condition for home. I definitely did not expect to pay over $2000, I didn’t even receive a haircut or any other service except for an installation and she was on the phone and running around the salon the whole time she was installing them. When I went to tip I asked her if I can receive a goods from service receipt because I bought some product and I just wanted to know the price of the hair. She had told me they do not do itemized receipts and only if I was a salon I could know the price of the hair. I paid the total and tipped on the total because it didn’t give me another option other than tipping on over $2000. I called to double check to see how much it was going to cost to have my hair moved up because I was scheduled but they couldn’t give me a price because they said she makes her own prices and it just depends. I ended up canceling and went elsewhere for my move up. When they removed my extensions to have them moved up the bands she had placed in them had ripped and damaged my hair really bad. Also the extensions are in very poor condition, mind you I don’t even own a blow dryer or use heat in my hair and I have extremely healthy hair and take care of my extensions very well. (So I thought) The hair quality was just very poor and the installation was believed to be the reason of all the breakage because of the rubber/elastic products used to sew them in. All in all I was very sad that I spent over $2000 here and now I have to purchase new hair already and I’ve only had this hair about eight weeks. I felt extremely taken advantage of and disappointed and wish I had went somewhere else from the start. It does turn out this is a common occurrence from this salon and I wasn’t the first and I unfortunately won’t be the last.
Responding to the owners comment— I’ve never had extensions in my life so the breakage was from your extensions and your placement. I had long black hair prior to getting extensions and needed the long ones because I already had very good long hair before you had put them in. It’s so sad to see anyone that has a terrible experience at your salon you refuse to accept fault, maybe one day you well learn how to be a professional business owner and accept fault when you’re wrong, instead of attacking anyone who dislikes your poor business skills. But from every response on here you probably will never will. If anyone is wanting to get extensions I HIGHLY recommend avoiding this place, there are plenty other places that are worth every penny. I personally know three people who went here and had the exact same terrible experience I had, so I’m sad I didn’t do my research a little better...
Read moreI cannot say enough positive things about my experience with Coco Marie. From the time I walked in and met my brand new stylist Ferchi I knew IMMEDIATELY I was in good hands! From the time he took the heavy yellow hair out of my head to the time that he put TRUE Coco Marie in, I suddenly felt and saw the difference and today, when I washed my hair it did not weigh down my head at all in The shower like my old extensions did. CM was quick and easy to dry no shedding imagine that UNLIKE THE OLD that my old stylist told me was CM BUT WAS NOT! ! I never had a male stylist before so was a bit nervous but I wanted to see if he would be better and let me tell you! He did NOT disappoint! I have to say he is my first and last stylist I will ever have! Ferchi is So talented so amazing such a kind soul and heart so much fun and I couldn’t have asked for a better experience. What Fetch did with my color in 20 minutes I have been asking for with several stylists for 20 years being in Colorado! Ferchi not only got me to the color that I wanted, but walked through the entire process as well as extension install process with me, he walked me through the colors that he thought would be right for me and made me beautiful again! I again cannot say enough about Ferchi. He is nothing less than amazing and works wonders! He’s so talented and I am so blessed to have him in my life now and will never go to anyone else EVER!. Ferchi and Courtney both validated what I was afraid of all along since going to wefts and them shedding like crazy and having to replace every 6 months. Wto lie to their clients, up charge them and tell Them they’re getting a product that’s not really even the CM product AND give them packaging that says Coco Marie on it and it’s not the true packaging. Courtney has worked her butt off with her superior ultra luxury brand and the REAL CM product is way better quality and comfort than the garbage that has been put in my hair These past two years! Shame on you ladies for your web of lies! Courtney YOU’RE THE BEST! Thank you so much for creating your Ultra Luxury brand! FERCHI You have a customer for life! Save yourself some time and money and go straight to COCO MARIE! Everybody there so nice so fun it’s a true Ultra luxury experience! It really has a great vibe to it and I’m really looking forward to Going back on my next visit. Ferchi you’re stuck with me! I just wanted to say thank you again to everybody that I encountered on Thursday you all are so amazing and I back this product and the salon 1 million times and I won’t stop...
