My experience with Discount Audio in Winchester was more than satisfactory. Tom was very pleasant and professional, while Craig the technician did a first-class job of hooking up my midrange-subwoofer speakers in my 2010 Ranger XL Regular Cab. Craig spent time with me adjusting the rear sub's before i drove off, and the price that Tom quoted me for the job was the price I paid in the end.
Tom gets right back to you when you send him an email, something many businesses that have online presences do not do to my amazement; I have three website myself. Granted, some people may have had a difference experience, but writing a positive review takes time, and many times very satisfied customers just do not take the time to do so.
There is a waiting area, my job took about two hours, but Craig may have been multi-tasking during that time. I was only charged for the one hour of work. Love the sound of my new audio hook-up, had put Rockford-Fosgates in the front door panels of the Ranger ( they sell this brand also ) and ditched the factory OEM speakers made in Mexico. Going back for another install job this week.
Give them a try. The salesman or men may have had a bad day on some of these reviews. No business is perfect all the time, just has to be most of the time to have hundreds or thousands of satisfied customers.
UPDATE, Nov. 5, 2024: Just had Danny, the installation tech, run USB cable from the new front Rove dashcam to a Rove cigar shaped rear camera, and then, without even asking, Danny hid the front camera's spaghetti wires running from a power outlet and actually hardwired the whole front/rear system to a live-when-ignition-ON fuse!! $400 is more than a fair price for all that Danny did (sweat, skill, hardwire kit) and my new 2021 Forester still looks like a virgin. This guy is one of the best audio techs I have ever had the pleasure to use. So if you have a wiring or power source set-up you are afraid to tackle because of lack of knowledge or a bad back like me, call Discount Audio up and they will give you a quote that will be much to you liking. A+ with 6 Stars, but Google doesn't go that high. Came in at 2:45 on Election Day, and drove away smiling at about 4:10 pm capturing the nasty lady tailgating me all the way to Route 37....
Read moreTo begin, I own a 2008 Pontiac G8. Not too sure if any of you know anything about these cars, but until this year it was close to impossible to replace the radio because there were no dash kits made for it and if you did manage to pop a new stereo in, you'd lose your AC/HEAT functions. I found a kit specifically made for the vehicle from a custom G8 shop out of Florida. The kit comes with the wiring harness, 99 pages of instructions, a custom touchscreen AC controller and a few extra items. I originally tried to install this myself but messed up somewhere and made my car not start. I was recommended to try out Winchester Audio from a friend who helped solve the wiring problem. Also, the touchscreen AC module was cracked in the process of me trying to install. I called in and talked to Tom and met with him in person. At first, they were a bit discouraged but not turned away from the challenge due to the fact no parts were showing up in their system. I brought Tom and the tech out and explained everything I did and showed them the instructions. They told me where I went wrong and said they would get it done. It took them about 6 hours, but they got everything working. I paid what I was expecting to pay for a custom job like this, and after installing we realized the touchscreen HVAC module was working. Tom said once I get it repaired, he would put it back in for free. Very satisfied with my experience here, and anything else I get done to my car, I'll do...
Read morePicked up my car awhile ago and I have to say something I never have said before. It's too loud. What I'm saying is it cranks higher than my ears like. I've come close but I've never been able to crank it to 11 without getting some distortion. It stayed clean until I didn't want it any louder. I've messed with car stereos since my 59 Apache with the Kraco 8 track and 4" speakers. I've up graded head units or speakers or both. Everyone loved the sound in the Taraus. Everyone even high school family members loved the sound in the Mazda. The GTI was even better. The current driver loves the car. So that brings us to the Morono, every thing except the head is new. It has sat/nav, blue tooth phone, music and stuff I haven't read enough.about with a 8 inch screen. First thing on Classic Vinyl was Sir Elton's "Funeral for a friend/ Love lies bleeding." I heard things I hear at home with the Klipsch never in a car. Sirius isn't known for using a great format. I'll have to see if it's just the system or the Clari-fy sound processing. It's really good, clean and loud. This is the forth system these guys have helped me with in 22years. Before that back in the day at the Montgomery Wards plaza I bought some stuff too. Bottom line, Bob and Tom and the rest of the guys at WDA have always treated me right. They've always been helpful and stand by their products and work. So from a forty year customer. It's the place...
