I had brought a MacBook here for a friend for repairs in 2021. They replaced the screen for what felt like an absurd price, but I blamed Apple for the cost of parts. While waiting for the repair, said friend decided they no longer wanted to MacBook and that I could have it, so I also asked for it to be reset. They claimed they did reset it; they did not. Whatever, that's easy enough to do on my own. I got it home, performed a factory reset, made a profile, and put it back into a padded laptop bag. It stayed there until last week, unmoved, undisturbed, unused. I didn't really need a Mac, and had a lot more important things going on in my life. I brought it back in last week to sell to them, thinking they had done a good job repairing the screen. Turns out, they had not. The screen is suddenly broken again despite a lack of use, and their "helpful" suggestion was that if I had a problem, I should've brought it back within the 90 days, but because I had it instead of them, I must've done something to it. They then claimed they would "try it again" after getting my password to get into the Mac to determine if they would buy it from me and how much they would offer me, and that they would call me back when it was done. This, too, was a lie, and I had to go in person 4 days later to find out they decided "too bad it's broken" and get the device back at all. I guess I'm at least grateful they didn't just scrap it or keep it themselves? But I feel entirely ripped off now in BOTH of my experiences with them based on this latest one. Either they are charging Apple Store (or worse!) Prices for subpar parts that don't last so they can get more money for repairs, or Apple products have such a short life expectancy that selling them as a premium product is its own form of dishonesty. In either case, if and when I do in the future get a Mac desktop that I will use for music production and recording purposes, I will not bring it here, I would not buy it from here, and I will encourage others with Apple devices to stay...
Read moreI brought my phone to Experimac in Winchester to have the charging port replaced and I ended up paying them $70 to destroy my phone.
My phone was fully functional, but I was only able to charge it with a wireless charger and this was inconvenient. I was told when I brought my phone in to them that this was a "simple fix" and after they ordered the part, it would take about an hour to repair. I was given no disclaimer that they could possibly ruin the entire phone. My experience was terrible from start to finish. I first went in and the guy said he ordered the part and would call when it came in. After a couple weeks of not hearing anything, I called, part was never ordered. So then another week goes by, part comes in, I take my phone to them and they replace the charging port. Got my phone back and it no longer could make calls or text. They tried to order a new part saying that the part was defective and I waited another 1 1/2 weeks for this new part to come in. They did give me a loaner phone during this period. Once they tried the new part and the phone still didn't function, they tried a few more fixes and nothing worked. I was told the phone was done for. I went back in to pick up my ruined phone and asked if I could get my $70 back for the repair, ya know since they did not repair my phone but instead destroyed it, and was told by the owner that he could not do this because they had put so much time into the so-called "repair."
My suggestion to the owner and employees at this store, is that you should tell customers that there is a possibility of you ruining their phones, not repairing, and that if that happens you will not return their money spent. If I had known that this was possible, I never would have given you my phone. I would have continued wirelessly charging and using my functional phone. I paid you to destroy my property and I was never even told that...
Read moreI’ve gone to them multiple times for different reasons and they have always fixed, solved, renewed, replaced and repaired everything perfectly!!! And they are fast and reliable and clean and you can feel at ease and comfortable there. Not only is it very obvious from the start that they know what they are talking about(!!!!!) but also, they aren’t trying to get your business or money. It’s a great feeling when (instead of how you feel at a pawn shop maybe) here, he has literally saved me money many times by explaining what’s worth investing in/saving vs all the factors that go into each item and what you need/want. As careful as I try to be, it seems impossible for me to not break each item at least once! Each new phone (break the screens), 2 laptop screens, iwatch glass, etc. And I’ll tell you, I will choose Experimax first and only them, even over Apple themselves! I trust them, I trust their knowledge, their judgment, their skill, their integrity and also the way they will prioritize and do everything they can to make sure you don’t go without a phone for any longer than any of us want to! They’re somewhat hidden behind a domino’s pizza but it’s also nice and peaceful and easy parking and though they aren’t idle or needing for more customers, you are always acknowledged, helped, talked to for as long as you need with zero judgment nor any impatience or annoyance! I feel like I can really learn everything I need to know (and more) before I make decisions on what to do! Great place to go also for anyone that might want either an upgrade or to buy any technology at all really because like I said, they know their stuff and they will spend all day if that’s what you need before deciding! I’m a repeat customer (maybe I shouldn’t brag about that though because it’s always for repairs...
