One more quick edit. I've noticed in reviews a lot of people are mentioning high prices like I mentioned in my original review. Don't forget unless it's a new item it's on sale! Check the in store signs for the color code! And don't forget they're helping build homes for Forsyth county so it's for a good cause! Read the owner response from my original review I'll pay a higher price especially if it's for a good cause like the Restore and Rescue mission
Edit: I'll admit I did go when they first opened and was way too quick to judge. Recently decided to go back again and check them out. Very glad I did! Found a gorgeous sofa table for my living room. Been on the hunt for a hutch and most places (rescue mission, estate sales, and auctions) are selling hutches for less than $50 I would either bid too slow (online) or the hutch would be gone when I got to the store. ReStore had a gorgeous hutch for $248. That did seem kinda high to me so I walked away even though I loved it. Went back the next day to pick up the sofa table and the Hutch was 20%off. We went back and forth and decided to just get it bc it was a gorgeous piece and I was getting tired of my dining room being full of boxes lol. The day we were supposed to pick it up we had a major plumbing emergency and couldn't go pick it up. I thought for sure we'd end up losing it by resell for not picking it up. Got in touch with the store and they were extremely kind and are allowing us to pick it up this Saturday (a week later than we were supposed to!) Every single person we've talked to in the store from ringing us up to helping load, to asking about items have been beyond kind. They have so many gorgeous pieces of furniture and very nice items. I could go in daily and find new stuff for my house lol. (What happens when you sell your small house and buy a huge one. Need way more furniture haha.)
I was definitely too quick to judge and absolutely take back my previous review. I should have given them time to get more stuff in and visited again before my review. I've been 4 times in the last two weeks and have absolutely zero complaints or issues. I highly recommend checking this place out! And don't forget they get new stuff daily!
Eh. The rescue mission downtown has way more stuff and better prices. Maybe bc it's new it doesn't have a lot. But prices are same as brand new items. Big pass. It seems like the restores in Winston are more for the hipster crews or people that want to spend $1000 for "refurbished" stuff Lewisville, Statesville, Mocksville, Elkin, etc all have way better prices...
Read moreI have been to this location for 3 times now. The first time there were so many good deals when I came back I wanted to bring my family. After looking through the rugs, there was one round one, which is by the way still hanging there today. This rug did not have a price but after looking at the rugs around they all seemed to be between $15 and $25. I asked the nearest associate and she went to the grab the blonde with 4 inch roots working behind the register. Prune then told me that the rug I wanted was $90. Like ? So I asked why is it so expensive, aren't these items donated? She stormed to the back and yelled for a guy to ask if they had purchased that rug or if it was a donation. Then she proceeded my direction to inform me that they had infact, purchased that rug so its more expensive. Her undying urge to prove a point to anyone was fulfilled that day. Shortly after that encounter I left. Now two days ago my famiy and I go in and there is once again hardly any customers, if any. We just looking around and grabbed a few things. When we walked to the register the dark brown haired girl with blunt blonde ends, walks away. no problem, maybe she had to do something really quick. Well she walked away to give two kind ladies a complete tour of the space, every nook and cranny. I am sure those ladies felt like they were on a guided tour in the LOUVRE! We were still standing waiting, by the register to check out and for on blonde tips to return. SPOILER. , she did not. After making eye contact several times. We placed our merchandise on the counter and we exited. It seemed like they spoke about every single piece in the store! I am not entirely sure what those ladies were there for but I am certain they got their moneys worth! As for my family and I, we will not be back here. Three strikes and you're out. I really hope someone important reads this and does something serious with this place. The employee experience to customers is tainted. The employee appearance is way below par. In my opinion if the volunteers have more initiate to be approachable and well dressed, the employees may not be the issue but the management of this location. I have sat down and thought about this for days and days. There is so much more I would love to say but i just hope I am not the only one experiencing these...
Read moreOn March 27th, I visited this store while searching for a couch. After weeks of looking without success, I was thrilled to find one that fit my needs perfectly. As I was about to leave to check out the other Habitat store on Coliseum Dr., a friendly employee suggested I could place a 1-2 hour hold on the couch. This sounded great to me, as it provided the assurance that the couch would still be available when I returned.
I filled out a hold form at the register and left, feeling confident that the couch would be there when I got back. Unfortunately, my experience took a sharp turn when I returned within the hour.
Upon re-entering the store, I noticed part of the price tag on the couch had been ripped off, which I assumed was a sign that the hold was still in place. When I approached the checkout desk, I saw the original employee who had informed me about the hold process, along with another lady who had helped me fill out the hold sheet, and a gentleman I hadn’t seen before. As I walked up, the two ladies quickly left the desk, and the original employee said, "I'm not dealing with this." I was confused and didn't understand the comment.
With the two ladies gone, I spoke to the remaining worker, Will Nixon. I explained that I had placed a hold on the couch and was ready to pay for it. That's when Will informed me that the couch had just been sold. I was shocked and confused, as I had placed the hold less than an hour earlier. Will explained that the couch had been sold to a customer in the store and that the other two workers should never have told me about the hold because they don’t actually offer holds.
At this point, I was upset. My time had been wasted, and I felt misled by the other two workers. Will tried to make amends by offering me a discount on any item in the store that day, but the entire experience had soured my impression. He then offered me 20% off any item in the store until April 13th, but by then, the damage was done.
I never went back to the store to use my 20% off discount. I enjoy visiting Habitat stores, I believe in their mission. However, after being lied to and having my time wasted, I will never return to this...
