I went to the copy and print area, where no employee could be found with 5 customers waiting. Adam showed up calling out for Tim, and Tim was nowhere to be found, so Adam started helping customers. Then a female employee without a name tag showed up.
I had 7 notebooks that I wanted to cut down. I have had this done several times before. I was trying to explain to the employee that I wanted only some of the length to be cut off from the top because it would cut my headers off, and I usually get some cut from the top and the bottom. Not listening to me, she said she would just cut it all of the top. I then said, no, I didn't want that and explained why. I made markings on them to show to cut some off the top and some off the bottom. I asked her if she wanted to cut one first to make sure it would work before she cut all of them, and she said, "Not really," and just stood there staring at me, saying nothing else. The whole time, she had an attitude. She went over to the machine, did what she needed, and then brought me a piece of paper to see if it would fit. It was snug, but I said it was fine. She then informed me that 2 of my notebooks were slightly larger, which I appreciated because I didn't realize. She said she would just cut them all the same. I tried explaining that wouldn't work because then the slightly taller one wouldn't fit because the paper was snug. Obviously annoyed, she just stood there and stared at me.
At this point, I have had it. I ignored her attitude and her not listening to what I wanted. The General Manager walked by, and I asked him if he wanted to help because she clearly did not want to. I then explained what happened, and the employee interrupted and said she didn't say "not really' which was A COMPLETE LIE!! Then he said it must just be an understanding. NO, Adam, there is no misunderstanding, and that is the wrong thing to say to someone who has received horrible customer service and is now being lied on. I then went through it again, and she kept interrupting, only making me more frustrated. Adam listened to what I wanted and went back to make the cuts. Meanwhile, this employee talks about her lunch break and that she needs to get her medicine. He returned with my notebooks exactly how I wanted them, and then I thanked him and told him I needed to pay. He said he wouldn't charge me and that it was just a misunderstanding. I could tell he wasn't comfortable handling conflict. Adam: While I appreciate you trying to help, and you had good intentions of trying to diffuse the situation, let's be clear...there was NO misunderstanding. Your employee was VERY rude, and I let it slide until I finally had to say something. I will not tolerate you telling me I misunderstood or your rude employee calling me a liar. Absolutely not. However, I appreciate your help and effort in...
Read moreI waited two days before sending a comment. Thinking it was me, having worked ten hours and driving 50 miles home. But, the more I think about the service the more upset I get. I walked in to the Office Max Silas Creek Pkwy location. (I think I was the only guest shopping at the time.) Walked over to the ink looking for replacements. Your Host (employee) was scanning items. Never asked how my night was? If I needed help (NOTHING) after finding what I needed I walked to the register. Eddie (name tag) Just pointed and stated that I needed to go to the other one. Eddie walked over threw his scan gun down signed onto the register took the ink cartridges looked at them. I stated that I hope they are the correct ones and that they work. Eddie started to slam the cartridges to the counter top like he was trying to break them and said. I hope they work two. I know he had to de-magnetize them. But, was he trying to break them as well? I started to look around. Thinking I know this is on camera!. And thinking that if I didn't need the cartridges I would have just walked out and told him where to put them!. Eddie asked me if I was a member? I stated yes. His response was then put your number in the pay pad. Eddie then threw the cartridges in a bag and put his arm out!. Never a thank you. NOTHING!!.. I took the bag and said THANK YOU EDDIE. The store looks as if its closing and with this service maybe it should. Wont be coming back to this...
Read moreNightmare experience trying to ship a document here. Took at least 40 min for the associate to get everything arranged because they kept pausing our transaction to help other customers. I paid extra for the earliest possible arrival date (which was still 4 days due to the holiday) and was told it would definitely arrive by end of day 6/2. Today is 6/3 and the document still hasn’t arrived. I called the store and the manager put me on hold for 20 min then literally told me “unless you pay to guarantee the guaranteed date then the date is just an estimate, you should have selected one of the starred options”. What!?!! This is the first I had ever heard of some guaranteed “starred” option, and when I was shipping I made the associate very aware that I needed the document to arrive by 6/2. I told her I didn’t know what option I had selected but that I had been told 6/2 was a guaranteed date. She told me I’d have to come into the store bringing all my receipts and paperwork and even then they wouldn’t do anything to make this right because “Office Depot doesn’t guarantee anything”. Well good to know, definitely won’t be using this...
