This was an expensive activity that was worth the price. The adults in our party enjoyed the exhibit and learned a lot about the artist and his work. Our six-year-old twin granddaughters were thoroughly engrossed and captivated by the presentation methods and the artworks themselves. The virtual reality presentation was the highlight of the show with an amazing degree of realism and detail. The paintings seemed to come alive. The artificial but amazingly realistic transformation from flat, two-dimensional artworks to a simulated three-dimensional view of the scenes surrounding the images in the frames from the vantage point of the subjects of the paintings was surprisingly transportive to the times and settings of the works themselves. The dimensional augmentation stimulated interesting speculation about the mindset of the artist as he tried to capture the content and the feeling and the meaning of the scenes and circumstances he was trying to portray. The coloring activity at the end of the show with the opportunity to see their fresh work displayed digitally was particularly enjoyable for the children, like their own first and public exhibition. I recommend this attraction highly. Some exposure to some of Van Gogh's better known and more popular paintings before the exhibit with some attention to the details they might find interesting about them and worth looking for can help children avoid a feeling of disappointment when comparing this exhibit to the currently available hyper-stimulating, multi-media, sensory-overload social and entertainment media content. This show is excellent but the daily media onslaught is tough...
Read moreAs I stepp a van Gogh painting and the immersive experience. I felt my mind a total piece but yeah and total exhilaration. From starry night where the sky was so alive, reflections of the water was mesmerizing. Two Roots realizing that the only thing I have in this world is to leave a a pile of beautiful fertilizer for the next generation to admire the beauty of what it grows. You can feel his anger, his frustration, his passion, his love, and his Insanity as the pictures move all around you. The butterflies flutter the music plays. It's a truly visceral experience and everything it has to give. As he is quoted, he gave his heart and lying to his work but that cost us all The 3D experiencee sitting in the room watching the flashing paintings being brought to life..you're in such such a haunting dark place, so at the same time, such a spiritual mind bending opening event. Van Gogh this one artist that shows that madness and genius are two sides of the same coin. And that coin travels to the air like flipping a coin where madness and genius intertwined are by themselves are merged together and you never know which side is going to hit the floor face up The field of wheat, the grim reapers cuts us down when we’re producing seems at our best. Food that we bear hopefully we’ll feed...
Read moreWould be better if it were not so HOT in there. I'm sure that's why our original scheduled visit was postponed by the company. There were some industrial fans scattered throughout but not enough to keep a comfortable temperature. The workers were nice. The reading portions (like biographies) were not spaced properly so people kept bunching together in bad places. Or they lingered in front of the fans because of the heat. The projector room was nice but you need to have confidence in your knees since most of the seating are low beach chairs. There are some benches but you'll have the projector light in your eyes for most benches. The VR was okay but is NOT what is depicted in the advertisement. You sit in one of the many bar chairs that leans forward (bad back support) and just sit there watching what's on the VR screen. You can move around your head of course but there is no walking around or interaction like most expect. There were some glitches in the playback of video both in the different projections and in the VR. A semi-expensive way to kill a...
