Melrose Coffee — Restaurant in Winston-Salem

Nothing like it anywhere else in Winston-Salem!Stumbled across this in my Google Maps while looking for a cup of coffee outside of the big box. Saw the 4.9 star reviews and decided I needed to give it a try. Was very impressed as soon as I drove up because the exterior is different than anything I've ever seen. Inside you find a Chic Industrial feel that meets mid-century modern. Seating for somewhere between 20 and 25 people available indoors and very comfortable seating. Benjamin was very helpful when explaining their secret recipe coffees to me and helping me order something from their bakery to go with it. They even have a few gluten free options! There is something there for everyone but if you like chocolate, definitely ask about the Ferrero Rocher..The chop nuts from the Ferrero Rocher were a surprise I hadn't even thought about but I actually enjoyed it! Nevin was also extremely helpful in explaining their guest wifi and making sure I had what I needed to charge my phone as I wanted to stay a bit longer because I was between appointments and working on my tablet. I never even knew that they offered wine, but I will definitely be going back so I will be able to check those out on the next visit hopefully. Pricing is reasonable as well so bottom line, do not miss the opportunity to check it out and make sure you get a frequent...

Not your ordinary cafe. Not your ordinary coffee.

Coffee is not fun anymore. It became so mediocre and, to be honest, it doesn’t fit the description of what is a coffee anymore. Melrose Coffee and Wine Bar takes your coffee experience to another level. Its unique taste will make you hate Starbucks and other mainstream cafes on how they make profit from you from drinking their pseudo-coffee drinks. I live 30 minutes away from their store, but it’s worth the drive every single time. The store’s ambience is very modern, yet very relaxing. They have enough seats for everyone to gather while sipping on a good cup of coffee. My favorite by far is their Blueberry Lavender Latte. I don’t know how they make this, but having the richness of the coffee mixed with the taste of blueberry and lavender is impeccable. MUST TRY!

So, what are you waiting for? My review won’t do justice until you experience it yourself. Truly a hidden gem in the triad. I cannot wait until they expand a location in Greensboro/High...

I had the chance to come here and spend some time in this beautiful space, and it was such a wonderful experience. I had the opportunity to speak with the owners, and the atmosphere was great — warm, intentional, and purposeful.

What really stood out to me was how genuine they were. It wasn’t just surface-level small talk or joking around. They asked thoughtful questions, took time to explain their products, and shared why they do what they do. You can tell they truly care about their customers and their craft.

This visit left such a positive impression that I’ll definitely be coming back again and again. Beyond that, I’m excited to check out their other locations across North Carolina because of the character and integrity I saw in the owner.
