We generally rave about this location However After trying unsuccessfully for more than an hour and a 1/2 To get on the wait list or get anyone on the phone here, We finally gave up and drove to the location, And got someone on the phone 30 minutes before we got there..
When we got there, Our name was called to come to the desk and be taken to our table, However, we had no idea who was doing it because nobody talked to us., There was 5 or 6 girls standing there., But not one said our name and to follow them to the table... We finally noticed one girl standing there Just looking at us with rolls in her hand , and assumed she was our hostess..
We were brought to our table, She put the rolls on the table, But no silverware..
When are waitress came, We essentially knew what we wanted for appetizers already, and our drinks.
I ordered two drinks one of them from the bar, And my borrow drink is something that I had gotten at this location and others many times, But my waitress had never heard of, So when I said that they do serve it here. Because I have gotten it many times, She seemed upset that I was asking her when I was simply stating. Hey if they have it I will take it, And if they don't, I will gladly take something else.
She sent over either the bar manager or a senior person from the bar, Who explain that they no longer have this Cordial, So I ordered what ended up being probably the worst white Russian in the history of anyone making white Russians..
We ordered our appetizers ... Which was four different appetizers, And my wife ordered a salad..
The food came and we still hadn't been given silverware., And when a different waitress came by and asked, if there's anything that we needed., We asked for Utensils, And she said okay, But never came back
About that time, the booth behind us who had come in roughly five minutes after we did., They also asked for silverware From the same waitress.
After we went ate all about our appetizers with our hands, We asked another waitress for silverware. So my wife could eat her salad..
At this point another table along side of us Also was asking for silverware .
Now 3 parties at 3 different tables, had nothing to eat with, and thier food was going cold on the table.
When our entrees came out , We asked our regular waitress again for silverware and she gave us three sets, But there was four of us at our table, as someone who worked in this industry We gave silverware to everybody at the table, Because you don't know the eating habits of the person sitting in front of that you that you are serving,Don't assume that they don't want a fork or a knife,So my son did not get his, And he borrowed my knife to cut his Burger.
At this point we heard the person behind us yet again ask for silverware.
I'm looking at our food that had just been put on the table, We instantly noticed that three of us who ordered the loaded sweet potato, Which we get every single time, The topping was burnt to a crisp.. And not remotely appetizing looking... Definitely Not what we have come to expect eating here or any other location ..
Keeping in mind. I have a Texas Roadhouse less than 15 minutes from me, In my own town, that is brand new,But we have loyalty to this location and drive more than an hour to get here..
So seeing that our sweet potatoes look kind of nasty We each kind of scraped the topping off., At which point I noticed that my chicken that I ordered smothered and with cheese was missing cheese , and when I try to eat my steamed vegetables, They were absolutely hard as a rock, Probably a good three to five minutes From actually being done the way that you guys normally serve them.
So we walked out of the service, Ordering for for our table , 2 bar drinks , 5 regular drinks , 4 appetizers 4 entrees and a full fifth steak meal to go ,Leaving a full Gross bar cocktail on the table., And completely untouched veggies
Tipped the waitress 18% cash on 130.00 , said no dessert ( a first btw) and we all noted not 1 server on our side smiled 1x while we were here. This trip...
Read moreMy wife and I took a friend out to eat at Texas Roadhouse for a friendly dinner. During the main course, and after clarifying with the waitress that there was no fish ingredients in the food we ordered, our friend wound up finding a piece of catfish in her food. She knew it was fish because she immediately started to experience an allergic reaction. I had ask our waitress to speak with a manager and after what seemed like ten or fifteen minutes, we were approached by operations manager Jennifer. At that point, Jennifer asked to take the piece of food that our friend spat out; which was clearly light pink breaded fish meat, for review by the chef's crew for verification reasons. While I wish that my wife, our friend, and I had photographed what she spat out, and even video recorded the impending conversation with the waitress and the operations manager, I clearly mismeasured their intentions. Upon asking to speak to management a second time as our friend's throat was beginning to feel tight (typically significant of impending anniflaxys), we were told that the manager would be right out with what we handed her. When I noticed that she was taking an unusually long time to talk to us, I had my suspicion that Jennifer was about to switch up on us real quick. She came back out after making us wait with the head cook to show us that my friend bit into a breaded pickle, but I found it odd that she took that long and that the breaded pickle seemed freshly cooked and certainly not chewed. While I could look past the fact that my burger looked and tasted like it had been cooked with a WW2 vintage Mark-7 infantry flamethrower, and there was less fries on my plate and mostly grease, hmmm spew LOL, the fact that upon being initially informed by our friend from the beginning that she has a fish allergy, a piece of fish winding up on her plate and in her mouth, only for management to flex the audacity of acting like we're crazy liars, really took the catfish cake; pun fully intended. That was not a nice nor wise business practice. We're not unreasonable people and would've been more than willing to discuss a reasonable solution but when you pull the cover and conceal card to shield yourself from an error that was rightfully your's, that's simply not right. If I had the option, I would leave zero stars and definitely deduct a few had the option been available. Also let it be known that I saw quite a few roaches threw out the restaurant while I was dinning and I'm pretty sure I noticed a rat or two in the vicinity of the kitchen entrance while waiting on the manager. While my experiences with Texas Roadhouse often tends to lean positively, this particular experience certainly served as a notable contrast to the routine. Do yourself a huge favor, if you are ever in Winston-Salem NC's Hanes Mill Mall area for dinning purposes, skip Texas Roadhouse as this dinning gem really went to dive hell in a dime bag. I'm not sure if they swapped management and went down hill but do yourself a huge service and skip it. Red Robin and Olive Garden are far better places for which to spend your money. Even the dinner rolls at the Hanes Mall plaza in Winston-Salem NC really lost their prestige. For shame operations manager Jennifer, this establishment really slid for the worst and while I hope that you can find it in yourself to bring this all back to it's former glory, I can tell you that I will not be dining at this particular Texas Roadhouse again. You truly disappointed all...
Read moreI rarely take the time to leave negative reviews but my visit to the Winston location today was worthy of sharing. It being Mother’s Day we absolutely expected a pretty long wait time and had no issue at all when we were told it might be 45 minutes. We didn’t get seated for 1 hour and 35 minutes. That was frustrating but I could overlook that if it was the only issue- it’s a holiday and the restaurant was super busy.
While waiting near the station where the servers pick up baskets of rolls we saw a server drop the little cup of butter from a bread basket onto the floor. Although it had a lid on it the server picked it up off the floor and placed it right back into the basket with the rolls spreading whatever nasty germs were on the floor directly onto the rolls that were served to customers. The second time we saw a server drop a butter cup my sis-in-law picked it up so the server would have to put a fresh cup in the basket.
Once seated our server was quick to arrive, take our orders and bring us drinks and rolls. (She was the only positive experience during our visit today.) We had 4 people in our party. One ordered ribs. Three of us ordered steaks- 8 oz filets, one cooked medium well & 2 cooked medium. When our salads arrived I had ordered a Cesar salad and there was no dressing on my salad so I had to search for someone to bring me salad dressing.
When our food arrived the server asked us to cut into our steaks to check them. None of them were cooked properly. After being there for 2 hours at that point I was hungry & decided that mine was good enough so the server took 2 back to the kitchen. Once I took the first bite I realized that it wasn’t even warm in the middle so I had to call her back over & request another steak. When they returned with our steaks only 1 of them was cooked as requested, the medium well one. My brother decided to send his back again. I don’t send food back a 2nd time so I just asked for a box to take it home in so I can throw it on the grill to finish cooking it later. My brother’s 3rd steak came out still not cooked to medium but he decided to go ahead and eat it. (We also saw a man sitting at the bar send his steak back twice while we waited at the bar.)
They did not charge my brother and me for our orders. I appreciate that but it still doesn’t excuse the fact that a steakhouse sent out improperly cooked steaks multiple times. You’re a steak house. I have visited the Greensboro location countless times. This was the first, and last, visit to the...
