Beyond the fact the spirits produced here are top notch, Woodinville Whiskey make an amazing wedding venue. We got married here on a gorgeous Saturday night, so the entire outside was open to us.
Story, the events manager for WW and the co-located Hollywood Tavern, totally rocked.
Our complaints are minor: if you've drunks for friends like we do, double the recommended amounts of alcohol, especially the punches (they are delicious and go FAST), have a full bar, and only order one mac n cheese. For some reason the sound kept cutting out but we couldn't ascertain the reason, and no one seemed to mind too much.
On to the rest: The food, catered by Hollywood Tavern, was exceptional. We had the smoked salmon platter, burger sliders, two different chicken skewers, hummus, green salad, mac n cheese, olives, brownies (GF AND amazing), posset, and chocolate chip cookies. WW as a venue is awesome. Everyone mentioned how beautiful the textures, colors, architecture, and outside landscaping and set up was. It is. If you get the chance, walk up the stairs and take a look.
We had the food set up on farm tables and food eating set up on tall boys, all set up by WW with a great flow to allow people to mingle. There is enough room for a decent sized dance floor inside, there was corn hole outside, and, one of the best parts is, after you've your ceremony, WW busts out a fire pit up where the ceremony happened with circular seating around it. Total win!
All in all, if you want to have a one stop shop, laid back, kick ass party of a wedding, check out...
Read moreI purchased this At-Home aging kit from Costco. I followed the directions to the T and I still couldn't get the barrel to seal and would leak. I could get water to stop leaking, but when I would fill with White Dog it leaked. I tried everything to include, emptying again, submerging in water for hours, and placing natural bees wax around the rim. I thought I got the leak to stop when I placed my barrel in my utility closet. After one month, I went to check the taste and noticed I had lost more than half of the yield and the barrel was light. I ended up just emptying the entire barrel and found out I had lost near 70% of the whisky. As you can see in the pictures, out of the 2 - 750ml bottles of barrel strength, I was only able to fill a quarter of ONE of the jars. This is entirely unacceptable for a $125 aging kit. I reached out to Woodinville and they said I could either stop by (not driving across the state) or they could send me a new kit. They have yet to send me anything. Don't waste your money.
Update: Experience Manager Matt personally called me to apologize and is making things right. I believe customer service truly makes the product what it is. If you stand by your product, in this case whisky, then your customer service should mirror how good it is, and this is what they did. I will now make sure there's a Woodinville bottle in my cabinet at all times....
Read moreI still give it a 4 a 5 is extreme and you have to be realistic, The whiskey is always good here, so I drove all the ways to the distillery to hopefully get a cheaper bottle at source. Boy was I wrong, not only is it more expensive, but it seemed the ladies sold me a line, telling the double barrel is only sold at the distillery, even though I swore I saw it off the shelves in California. I gave the Server or Host, who was kinda rude telling me to keep my mask up in front of a 2in glass, I know procedures, shoot first ask questions later, the benefit of the doubt since it was the distillery. I took the taste test, and told them I’ll buy the double barrel and a glencairn glass, which they seemed shocked as if I wasn’t going to buy at all. And had to repeat telling the server the “the glen cairn glass.” who said “Oh the glen cairn glass...”, Yes the ones we were just talking about...Later I was disappointed when I went to the local supermarket with double barrel on sale for 35.00 dollars or something, asked the attendant do you carry double barrel here?! I just came from the distillery and they told me they only sold it at the...
