We have been coming to High-Steppe for quite some time and always have an amazing time! I had to come on and rave about the experience we had two days ago though.
We picked an unfortunate day to come with our 4 and 5 year old. The auto belay wall was closed and a big chunk of the bouldering wall was closed to re-route. We completely understood, but since there wasn't much our boys could do, we asked if we could have the passes refunded for them so we could come a different day. They were more than willing to refund BUT the owner or manager (I'm not sure which) came out and offered to teach my husband and I to belay instead so we could have access to way more routes in the gym.
He turned what could have been a negative experience (even though we never would have blamed them) into an exceptionally positive one. He spent at least an hour with us teaching us to belay, helping keep our boys entertained, and we had the most fun we've ever had.
I can't recommend High-Steppe enough. Their customer service is unbeatable and we always have an amazing...
Read moreThis gym is very clean, safe, and kid-friendly offering auto-belays and a sport-wall for practicing lead-climbing. They also have a full-sized cross training equipment center and yoga studio/classes. The gym was on the smaller side for us with routes not updated super regularly. Giving a 1 star because they have some kind of third party software/financial management company that limits their ability to serve customers with their memberships in a fair or efficient manner. Be prepared to pay a start-up membership fee and then a monthly fee on your credit card if you need to pause your membership for a while. Canceling your account entirely requires a physical trip to the gym and they may just keep charging you anyway. They have no way to issue you a refund per their third party agreement even if...

I believe the gentleman that was with us the majority of the time was Matt? Several kids made comments afterwards that he was incredibly kind and encouraging to them.
I was also pleasantly surprised at the pricing - it was around $300 for two hours of unlimited climbing for 10 kids and the use of the party room. Compared to the cost of parties at the trampoline park, laser tag, etc. we felt this was the...
