Boost Mobile — Attraction in York

I would highly recommend not making a purchase from this store.

I recently tried out their services and it was an all around terrible experience. I have an old phone with T-Mobile that was not supported by Boost's network, but the sales rep convinced it was no big deal, they have a promotion with a great phone for free for signing up for their services.

I initially wanted to go with Metro PCS because they are cheaper and have better coverage but the free phone sounded like a good idea so I decided to try Boost out.

It was a huge mistake. The free phone broke within 3 hours. I was pushing a stroller for my friend, hit a small bump, and the phone fell from a height of about 3 feet. From just that one drop the whole screen was shattered.

So I took the phone back to the store, and spoke with the same sales rep who initially talked me into it. I told I just wanted to cancel my service, get a refund, and go with a provider who could use my old phone which has lasted me over a year and a half. My old phone has taken multiple falls, been tossed by my friend's toddler, and been run over at work but the screen is still completely crack free and unblemished

The store rep told me they would not be able to provide a refund for the services and recommended using the insurance to get a new phone. As if I wanted to pay extra money to purchase another phone that would break again immediately, so I told him no, I just wanted to cancel and get my money back.

He told they were unable to refund my policy, even though at this point I had only had it for a total of 3 hours. So I called corporate.

The corporate representative tried to tell me the same thing, but when I made it clear I was not going for it they put me on hold for over half an hour, supposed to transfer to a department that could help me.

The 2nd corporate representative told me they could not issue a refund as I had paid with cash at the store, but that the store could authorize a refund. There are 2 problems with this. 1) I paid entirely by card, no cash was involved whatsoever. 2) the store rep had already told me he was unauthorized to provide a refund.

So I asked to speak to the phone rep's supervisor. I was placed on hold again for another half hour, and then transferred back to the exact same representative I spoke to initially.

Again, they refused to give me a refund, insisted I should keep the service despite my refusal, and basically gave me the runaround.

So I returned to the store the next day to again ask the store representative for a refund. They again told me they were unable to provide a refund for the service. I asked to speak to a supervisor and was told that she was unavailable and would be for the rest of the day.

I told them I already spent 2 hours on the phone speaking to customer service and did not mind waiting to see the supervisor.

The store rep told me he had already made it clear that they could not help me, that the manager was unavailable, and that if I continued to wait at the store to speak with her that they were call the cops because I was "trespassing and loitering" while waiting to speak with the management.

All in all, this was a godawful experience and I highly recommend that you do not spend money at this store or with this company.

Extremely unhelpful and unfriendly staff, piece of junk phones, the worst kind of customer service, and also more expensive than Metro PCS.

If I could give their store 0 stars instead...
