I don’t think they need more 5 star reviews but here is another one. I think I speak for the masses when I say that this chain is one of the best ice cream chains in Argentina. Apparently even the vice president of Argentina loves Rapa Nui.
I believe this chain specializes in chocolate since this particular place had an entire chocolate section selling truffles, chocolate bars, and other chocolate confectionary. That being said, I think their chocolate flavors are way better than their fruit flavors.
We got 1/4 kilo of dark chocolate, frambuesa nevada, and passion fruit. The dark chocolate was absolutely heavenly and had such a depth of flavor to the chocolate. The frambuesa nevada was creamy and fruity but tasted too similar to the passion fruit. The passion fruit was good too but a little watery and not as creamy as I’ve had at other places. Nonetheless, this is the first place I’d come back to for ice cream if I were to revisit Argentina.
We also got one of the speciality coffees that had chocolate in it and it wasn’t the greatest. It was overly sweet for us and the espresso taste got lost in the sweetness of the chocolate.
Lastly, this particular place had an incredibly cute outdoor seating area, bathrooms, free WiFi, and free...
Read moreDiabolical experience. I dropped by on a warm day, so there were only about 6 other customers there. I tried to get service/assistance at the chocolate counter, but the staffer just was not interested in helping me make a purchase - she could not be bothered to tell me what the individual chocolates were (as several were not labeled). It was too much hard work, so I just gave up. Then I went to the ice-cream counter, and even though there were no other customers there, the staffer could not be bothered to help me, and instead focused on unpacking boxes, etc. So I gave up, yet again. I came into this store, ready to * spend money (!!!!) **. But the staff made it impossible for me to spend my money in the store!!! This isn't 'service' - it's arrogance. If the staff can't be bothered to make a sale, there is no way this place will survive the recession in 2024. This store basically sells sugar - but this is a city that is full of wonderful places to buy 'sugar' (amazing confiterias, other chocolate...
Read moreBe prepared to get only 3 samples total per ticket, even if your ticket includes several orders of ice cream. This was a shock to my 7-year-old son and I, who were visiting for the first time.
The person scooping our ice cream was also incredibly rude, and gave my son his cup of ice cream without a spoon. LOL okay.
When I asked where I could find the spoons, she said that we should have saved our sample spoons. Not only did she have the nerve to look aggravated while getting a tiny plastic spoon - she then gave me my cup without a spoon! And I had to ask for yet another spoon. I felt like I was on a prank tv show.
I’ve never had an ice cream experience that disturbed both me and my child. I complained to another worker there and she was very gracious in her apology, but I recommend passing on this place and going to Obrador...
