My friend suggested me to go this restaurant. I was very excited to go. I really liked inside. But we are Asian family (with my daughter and husband) and I didn’t feel welcoming from the entrance. We were sit in the middle which I didn’t want but they didn’t change my table even though there was lots of others empty tables at the moment. Waitress was not really nice as I can’t speak Español but my husband is fluently speaking Español. But I don’t like he is explaining what I want. The waitress just played like dumb like she can’t understand me at all. So I couldn’t have what I want. Because the menu has no pictures So I can’t find what I want. Anyways, surprisingly I found out the waitress actually speaks English because we I went to bathroom and noticed she was at the other table with English speaker but white people and she was having a conversation in English. Don’t assume that I am Asian and not speaking well in English I am from Canada and speaking English Fluently. I am making this review and got mad again how she treated us. Food was nothing really special as I want to go back there with the poor customer service. Their food looks good what they serve to other table. I tried to grab the waitress again and tried to point I want that. But again she just didn’t understand even though i pointed the food I want. It was not language problem, she just didn’t want to help us. Well, maybe they don’t care because I don’t live there so I can’t become a regular customer. I travelled lots of places and I have huge family in Buenos Aires as my husband is from there. I never have experienced discrimination but here first time. Sorry I can’t give 5 stars for food because I couldn’t try your good food. Just the normal sandwich...
Read moreI have a few food restrictions and requested that they make the scrambled eggs without parmesan cheese (I'm allergic to lactose) and with olive oil instead of mix of corn and soy (or whatever cheap oil they use for cooking). They agreed and made it only without cheese, swimming in cheap oil which was pretty greasy and disgusting. A few hours later (we stayed for over 6 hours working at the cafe) I requested that they make the eggs again. The new waiter said that it wasn't possible because items on the menu cannot be changed, but we insisted with the fact that they had previously agreed to the same request. He went into the kitchen and came back saying that the kitchen had denied my request of making eggs without cheese and with olive oil, which makes me think that they actually don't have any olive oil in the kitchen and a very narrow mind and heart. They said items in the menu cannot be altered and they don't accommodate any restrictions.
As a former chef and someone who works in the service and travel industry, I will never set foot here again and will suggest that you don't either if you're hungry and have dietary restrictions.
Coffee is OK and the ambiance is nice. Didn't try the cakes...
Read moreA nice place for breakfast and lunch with the choice of terrace or indoor dining room, and even outside there are two options of seating.
An extended menu for breakfast and brunch. We ordered a Cheese BLT sandwich, the “Basket Eggs” (toast with a poached egg in the middle of the 2 toasts), bacon, sausage and a few other things on the plate, a latte and an iced coffee. Everything was good and tasty and well presented on the plates. For the “Basket eggs” the bacon could have been cooked more to make them crispy as described on the menu.
We also saw a big variety of cakes on the menu and decided to order a carrot cake to go… it looks very tasty as well.
The biggest improvement for this place is the wait time. The staff is nice and professional, but the service was brutally slow! Not sure if it is related to how they tun their operations or a lack of staff…? We waited a long time for our food and it was the same for the bill!?
It is worth the detour but be patient or if you are not in a hurry, make sure you ask for the chairs as shown on one of three pictures because the other ones are uncomfortable...
