BEWARE of double private room!! We booked a private double through booking.com and upon arrival were offered a discount if we cancelled our booking through the app and paid directly. We were a little confused but thought alright sure… paid the money and were shown to our room. We now realise it’s so we could not leave a bad review on Booking.com. Unfortunately the room was very small, had no windows and an AC unit that did not work. The room was very stuffy and hot and when we asked about the AC, the lady said it was broken, she was kind enough to then provide us with a very small fan that did not work very well. We stuck out 3 very sweaty nights on the not very comfortable bed as we didn’t want to make a fuss. There are also people living there permanently and as a result the small kitchen was often messy, dishes piled high and food over the bench, and staff sleeping in a small alcove in the hallway. It’s a shame to leave a bad review like this as some of the other rooms seemed perfectly fine, with windows and working AC and the bathrooms were clean, however there were only 2 for the whole...
Read moreWe arrived in the hostel and we had a confirmed reservation. They said they were full. Then he showed us a replacing room where we could stay. But we first needed to cancel our reservation through our booking-account so they didn't had to pay the fine. RIGHT AFTER THEY MADE ME CANCEL THE REPLACING ROOM WAS SUDDENLY NOT AVAILABLE ANYMORE. The owners took zero responsibility and did absolutely nothing to help us find a replacing place to stay. In the end we took a late taxi to Sevan so we had a bed to sleep that night. No thanks to the hostel.
Response: You promised us the room that you showed us (but 1 minute after you showed us you said its not available anymore YOU TRICKED US!). You should take an example from hostel Yellow Fox in Yerevan where the same thing happened, the owner said: "I'm not letting you sleep on the streets of Yerevan, i will make it happen", and you let us sleep on...
Read moreI had an absolutely wonderful stay at Areva Hostel in Armenia! From the moment I arrived, the hospitality was top-notch. The reception staff was warm, welcoming, and always ready to help with any questions or requests I had. The manager was fantastic and truly went above and beyond to make sure everything was perfect during my stay.
The cleanliness of the hostel was impressive—housekeeping did an amazing job keeping everything spotless. The shared spaces, especially the kitchen, were well-maintained and fully equipped, making it easy and enjoyable to prepare meals.
Overall, Areva Hostel has a great atmosphere, friendly staff, and all the amenities you could need for a comfortable stay. I highly recommend this place to anyone visiting Armenia and will definitely stay here again next...
