Booked two rooms. Place was dated and needs a overall. This property has hazards. Hot water on taps and shower is a hazard for young, elderly actually for everyone. The hot water in bathroom extremely HOT not sure if it has a regulator which is a requirement, easy for serious burns to occur, at one point only hot water was coming out of the taps in shower and cold seemed to work only when it felt like it.
**A big hazard for small children was the windows. NO fly screens or NO safety measures on the windows. *The window ledge children could potentially stand on and could possibly fall out of windows causing serious injury or more likely death. Window ledge is wide enough for a child to stand on.. Even first floor is very high up estimate 20 metres or more from the ground.
The plumbing is poor, issues with one of the rooms we booked the toilet that didn’t fill up, had to manually put water into the cistern to flush it and the smell came into the room underneath.
Bathroom has no ceiling fan that worked therefore steamed up the bedroom.
The lady at reception was nice however her partner seemed some what ignorant to the fact we had toilet issues.
I didn’t bother bringing the toilet cistern in the above room we booked to managements attention until our room below started to smell, then the man went on to say that he checked the toilets before we arrived and they where fine, yet again it took hours to fill up and the water was on..
The whole place needs an overall. Not worth the price. Photos on advertisement looks good but in real life it isn’t great at all.
Best thing about it was the view.
This is a honest feedback. The lady was helpful however I personally wouldn’t stay again, not worth the $220 per night. It was out dated and needs a overall and some safety measures put in place. BBQ’s did not work and Spa is still empty as apparently its a covid risk, or could it just be be that management couldn’t be bothered maintaining it..one has to wonder. In my opinion On-site restaurant looked very grubby as I could see into the back of Restaurant when using the...
Read moreLocation manages to combine a nice view over the bay from upper level apartment with a flat 900m walk into Airlie town centre. Best to use harbour path as road footpath is narrow and dark. The one bedroom apartment was enough to suit needs though very nerve racking using the full kitchen with the warnings about fines for setting off fire alarm, the detector is placed so close to the cooking area. Nice to have a bath tub but difficult to use the shower over bath as shower head only chest height. Was glad it wasn’t summer as a/c works well but is not aimed at the bedroom but in sitting area and directed away from bedroom so relies on it permeating into the room, have to have door open at night which allows a lot of morning light in. The washing machine is shared with the adjacent apartment, allegedly to reduce noise the driers have been disabled and you have to carry wet clothes down to basement where the driers have been relocated, a laundry basket would be a big help. Appreciated the SMS informing of service mid stay as was there for a week. The swimming pool is nice and clear, it is roadside though not a lot of traffic. The spa is closed. It’s a good basic holiday apartment to use as a base on the fringe of Airlie Beach, all the tour operators offer pick up from...
Read more1 night Room 8s floor 3 Reception staff very helpful and friendly. Explained things clearly. Undercover car park. Where you enter the room there is a washing machine, the driers are in the basement car park both to use free of charge. The room is lovely and bright overlooking a marina and out to sea. The room is in excellent condition a little basic but everything works, no chipped furniture, clean walls and tiled floors. The bathroom is a little dated. The spa bath is wonderful, a little tight for a 1.8 m man and 1.6m woman but nonetheless relaxing. It is surrounded by glass windows which overlook the marina and ocean. Would have been nice to have an exhaust in the room because we couldn’t handle the heat for too long. The reasonable size verandah has a view of the pool and out to sea. Foxtel was advertised but there were no channels on the tv and free to air only had a few stations and none of the 9 stations. Toaster, kettle and microwave are the only cooking utensils. Not overly impressed we had to dispose of our rubbish when we left. I haven’t encountered any other accommodation that asks you to do that. So other than the Foxtel and rubbish gripe overall a pleasant stay didn’t use any of the other facilities. Personally I’d only stay overnight...
