Very disappointing! Ordered the sautéed mushrooms with halloumi, fritters and a poached egg. The fritters were about the size of a 50 cent piece. Had to pay an extra $3 for a “poached”egg that was bone dry. My wife ordered the pancakes that really resembled picklets. The chocolate sauce was straight out of a bottle The marshmallows in our hot chocolates were stale. Also, most of the cutlery on the table was filthy. The cafe Home Grown is a lot better Wouldn’t go back.

Here to change my review. Used to be a fantastic place...can't say that anymore. 2 days in a row closed for lunch and this morning got dished up this toast for $8...8! What seemed to be 2 pieces of everyday store bought sandwich bread. To top it off ordered with peanut butter and then came to tell us 5 mins later they didn't have any peanut butter. Staff are rude and mostly uninterested. Absolute disgrace. Close your doors and stop the thievery.

A bid hard to locate this as this place is located in a lane and there is no signboard visible. We enjoyed freshly cooked and very tasty meal for lunch with freshly squeezed juice. The owner is friendly and welcoming. We were annoyed by the presence of flies as there is no fly screen at the entrance. The decor and furniture are very basic.

I had to wait one week later before writing this review because it was so disappointing, I didn't want to write this review while I was still angry. Still one week later I still remember this very bitter experience. There were a lot of good points (nice wait staff, pleasant location) but this was overridden by the attitude of the manager when our food didn't arrive after one hour. When we asked about when our food was coming, the owner came out and showed us a new docket from another customer pretending it was our order and telling us we haven't been waiting long at all. When we showed her our payment receipt in the bank account, she said someone else took our food. She was very confrontational and when we said we want our money back, she threw $20 at us and told us to get out. Very sad, we didn't even get to eat the hash brown stack.... But the coffee was...

We visited this cafe over the Christmas period. The food was nice, as expected from a cafe. However, the customer service was the worst we’ve ever experienced.

The middle aged lady treated us very rudely and disrespectfully. We were 4 families, and we all ordered separately, like individual customers, to make things easier. But because we were coloured Aussies, she seemed to confuse us with one another. Instead of politely asking whose order was whose, she started yelling out orders.

Her tone changed when other Aussie customers placed their orders.

We are Australian born and raised, so there were no language barriers. If you’re running a cafe, give respect to all of your customers.

The young girl who took our order and made our coffee later was very nice and went out of her way to help us with their coffee cup sizes.

Not going again or...

Unfortunately had a very bad experience with the service here. Came for lunch and the items not only came out very staggered, but two of our drinks were forgotten. When asked about it, the lady who served us was very rude and acted as if it was our fault that this had occurred. My friend who was with me also asked for a teaspoon and was met with a horrible attitude from the same server. To top it off, my friend ordered gluten free bread as she is celiac, and we later discovered that the bread was in fact not gluten free and my friend became quite sick the next day. Highly unacceptable as eating gluten can be dangerous to her and the worker clearly wasn’t paying attention when putting through the order. The cafe wasn’t even very busy when we came so there was no excuse for this...
