We have decided very last minute to go skiing. We have never been to Lech before, so we started our initial search and research on Booking. There was hardly anything available anymore, but on the site this hotel still was. We called the hotel and got a very friendly lady on the phone that spoke English is very high level. She confirmed the dates were still available and we could book with her directly.||Afterwards we received the confirmation email and we realised, Mrs. Caroline Kennedy, the lady on the phone was the actual owner of the hotel. A little bit later she rang again, because she realised the credit card details we gave her were American Express and she did not accept that. As we were on the go and it was not easy to give her another credit card number in swift manner, she just said she trusts us and said that the reservation was hereby confirmed.||She also arranged our ski passes for us and gave us an address for ski rental just around the corner with 10% discount too.||Upon arrival, free parking included in front of the hotel, we were welcomed by her personally. Very warm welcome and friendly explanation of everything. You immediately get the vibe of the hospitality that we were used to in the previous century. Authentic, sincere and good. Something that should be the standard today, but is not unfortunately.||The design of the hotel is a bit outdated, but because of that very authentic and charismatic. Besides, it is very standard and typical in Austria, they also call these "Austrian Stube" (just google it). Garni means Bed & Breakfast and that was great. Because the location is superb, just off the main high street of Lech, near two main ski lifts and loads of good restaurants. Everything in walking distance.||The rooms and hotel are clean and tidy. The breakfast was good. Every day different kind of cakes and fresh bread. It is literally family owned and run. Before Caroline, her parents run the lovely hotel. Although retired, they still help her. And, it was fun two see the next generation was also running around the hotel.||The hidden gem of the hotel was their spa downstairs.||Long story short, highly recommended. Don't even think twice to book here. We are coming back. Also great to visit outside the wintersport season/Summers. As Lech is stunning to walk &...
Read moreWe stayed for a week at the end of January 2025. Garni Lavendel is a delightful small family-run hotel in a great location in Lech. Free parking was available directly outside the hotel. There is also an underground car park immediately adjacent to the hotel but if this is full, there is also a large municipal underground car park about 3 mins walk from the hotel. The nearest InterSport for ski/snowboard rental is Dorf 256 and this is less than 100 steps from the front door of the hotel. The hotel has a handy boot room for skis and boots so there is no need to use a ski locker at InterSport. The hotel is under 2 minutes walk to the Schlosskopf lift and under 5 minutes walk to where Ski-Schule Lech is based and the gondola to Oberlech, Bergbahn lift and Rufikopfbahn lift. For those wanting to get to Zurs, St Christophe or St Anton quicker than using the lift system, the ski bus goes from Schlosskopf lift so is very close to the hotel. Overall the location is excellent. Breakfast is beautifully prepared with a daily mix of fresh fruit, granola, yoghurt, cured meats, cheese, fresh bread, croissants and eggs. There is no dinner served in the hotel but there are plenty of places nearby and no issues getting reservations. We enjoyed eating at Don Enzo (Italian), Schneggarei and Der Berghof restaurant in Lech and Burg hotel in Oberlech was particularly good. In under 2 minutes walk from the hotel is Plangger Lech, a small deli with seating inside for about 15-20 people max - we found this place to be great for a quiet apres ski stop on the way back to the hotel. The rooms were clean and well appointed, the beds very comfortable and we had a great view up the hill...
Read moreOur stay was magnificent. The hotel and room was so well kept and aesthetically beautiful. The view from the window (pictured) gorgeous and the staff are so friendly and helpful - they seriously sought to make our stay a delight, and it was. Everything was so well organised and run, including the room cleaning crew who left our room so clean and tidy every day. The hotel is so close to major lifts, transport and the centre of town. The breakfasts are superb, with an assortment of fresh produce, breads, pastries, cereals, juices, yoghurt, etc., as well as made to order eggs, omelettes, coffee, etc. The breakfast waitress was so friendly and attentive - really made us feel at home. It's my pleasure to review such a great place, in such a...
