This beautiful family-owned inn is warm and inviting in every way you can imagine. Researching the choices offered through our EPIC ski pass, my husband and I chose to stay at Alpenland in Lech for 5 nights in March 2024 and we certainly hit the jackpot. Upon arrival in Lech, our bus driver from Zurich airport phoned Alpenland and within minutes Philipp Jochum arrived in a golf cart to whisk us a few blocks up the hill to his hotel. Philipp and his beautiful wife, Sandra, are the owners along with Philipp's mother Priska. The inn is welcoming, bright, clean, tastefully appointed and comfortable. Our booking came with half board - breakfast and dinner included (being Americans, we weren't sure what to expect). Our room had a balcony, a king-sized bed with down duvets and wonderful pillows, a sitting area with a desk and TV, a toilet, and a large bath/shower/sink room, all with wonderful views. Our room was bright, cozy, and clean. Each day, our fantastic hosts offered helpful tips on where to go in town and on the mountain, what the weather was up to and how to plan with and around it. The biggest and most exciting surprises were the meals. Each night, we would descend from our room and arrive at the little bar at the dining room entrance where Philipp or Sandra would pour marvelous drinks. The inn has a fully stocked bar offering wonderful choices and recommendations. Next came the dinners. A five-star five-course dinner was served each night to our absolute delight! Our compliments to the chef! We looked forward to these fine, delicious meals and miss them even now. Breakfast was fantastic too. Also, another bonus - THE SPA! There is an incredible spa downstairs with saunas, an infrared lightroom, and a steam room which we used each night. Our skied-out muscles thanked us. The location, price, warmth, and beauty of this lovingly cared-for hotel are not to be outdone. I cried when I left and hope to...
Read moreWe spent one of our best vacations here last week! The hospitality of Frau Jochum and Philip at this most charming hotel were incredible. The hotel is ski-in, ski out, overlooking the slopes, 3 minutes walk from town, and the ski school. Service was warm, friendly, but unassuming and of the utmost professionalism. We were served a wonderful breakfast every morning, with lots of yummy food, and hot food as well. Dinner was a gastronomic 5/6 course meal every evening. No request was too big or too small. Philip took care of everything from transport, to any requests. My daughters loved the hot chocolate and cake in the afternoon after ski school. The team was very accomodating. My daughters were fed a mini-gourmet meal (that they loved) every night at 6. Dinner for adults starts at 7pm, so my husband and I were able to have a grown up meal, with grown up conversations. The rooms are nicely furnished, and they have all the amenities that you need. There are a variety of rooms, and they have 2 rooms that have connecting doors--so ideal for a family. The service standards here are very high, and fit for royalty! ||||My favorite part was sitting from the warmth of the balcony in my room, and watching the snow, and the slopes.|| ||We highly recommend Alpenland, and we will definitely be back. This is the ideal location from which to explore Lech and the area. (although, we really were quite happy at the hotel.)||||We will...
Read moreNote; this review is about the alpenland hotel in lech, whereas some of the underneath reviews refer to the alpenland chalet in zug (near lech).||||Alpenland is one of the best choices in pretty and stylish lech.||Being a regular vistor of this beautiful skiing resort, a lot of -field and desk- research went into selecting the ideal place to stay. ||||Service is friendly from the heart. Frau jochum is an excellent host. Rooms are nicely decorated, alpine style, which is typical for the region. Spacious enough, good beds, thanks to the location some with great views and extremely sunny balconies (not a common feature in lech). Location is excellent; Just off the mainroad, quite yet central, max 5 minutes walk to the center, 2 minutes to the nearest skilift. Food is simply delicious, we very much enjoyed each night's dinner; 6 courses, at a tastefully decorated table. Spa area is rather small, towels need to be replaced, but that really are the only downsides i can think of.||Prices are reasonable, if you take into account the general pricelevel in lech, that is.||In short; lech is the right choice if you are looking for a nice, stylish resort. Alpenland a great, charming place to stay. We are already looking...
