Haus Melitta is outstanding. Gerdie, her husband and their staff provide a charming, hospitable, personal, and all-around amazing Gast Haus experience. It's basically like a perfect mountain resort hotel but with a humanistic personal touch. We stayed there for 5 nights as part of our honeymoon in order to ski in the Alps, and we will 100% be back. The location a great, off the main drag but only a few minutes walk from both the restaurants and a T-bar to get you to the main lifts. The breakfast deserves 10 stars. Having lived for a year in Germany, I knew what to expect for excellent breakfasts, but this blew it out of the park...multiple breads, yogurts, various granolas/muesli's, smoked trout/salmon, several cheese and cold cut options, multiple juices, and of course the espresso machine. Gerdie also offers eggs each morning, cooked as you wish. Might I add, the eggs have a deep orange yolk, so you know they're good. Each guest has their own table with a special touch of a welcome card and the "Morgen Post" with local goings-ons, updates, and weather. When we arrived, she treated us to some prosecco, it being our honeymoon, and even helped us with laundry prior to leaving, and her husband dropped us down at the bus stop so we didn't have to lug all our bags the 15 minute walk down the way through ice, snow and salt/gravel on the sidewalks. Having traveled to several countries and regions on this honeymoon, I still reflect on Lech as my favorite place, and Haus Melitta had a lot to do with...
Read moreWe travelled (9 people) to Austria in February 2011 and had booked the 2 self catering appartments at the top of Haus Bergblick. Bergblick has an excellent location, skibus is on your doorstep and you can ski back to the house for those who want to.||We arrived late at night, yet the lady on reception had ordered rolls for us for the next morning. She was very friendly throughout our stay, went out of her way to respond to various requests varying from the route to the doctors and 'can we borrow a large oven dish'. Good old fashioned Austrian hospitality.||The appartments were typically Austrian with the dining table/bench as the main feature for seating. Well equipped, small kitchen. Excellent shower, plenty of hot...
Read moreWe were only able to visit for a few nights but very much enjoyed our stay at Haus Melitta. I had a few question before I arrived that were answered quickly by email and made our arrival very simple. ||||The hotel is a short walk from the town, ski rental, lifts etc.. and with enough snow it would almost be possible to ski back in. ||||We had a luxury double room with great view out towards the town. The room was clean, well appointed, nice bathroom with jacuzzi bath and comfortable bed. The people who run the hotel were incredibly pleasant and helpful. I would not hesitate to...
