Omnibus — Restaurant in Saint-Josse-ten-Noode - Sint-Joost-ten-Node

PATHETIC STAFF.

My friends & I traveled from abroad and our Uber dropped us off near by this Cafe. So we decided to give it a shot. I have never had a very disappointing experience like this due to the rudeness of the staff.

From the moment we sat down the waiter (CHARLIE) barely acknowledged our presence, acting as if we were an inconvenience. We had two tables and one menu - we were given less than 2-3 minutes to figure out what we all wanted to order. When we asked for more time he shrugged, sighed, and was absolutely rude about it. I also apologized and said we don’t know how to speak French, this was when his attitude completely changed to the point of no return. I said no problem, we can just visit another place to eat. He gladly smiled, mumbled something in French and sent us off. I immediately went inside and let the barista know everything mentioned above and he too did not apologize nor try to be more civil about the situation.

I warned them this review would be coming, so here it is. If you are a foreigner travelling, please skip this place and go down the street a few more seconds and you’ll find some lovely restaurants who will actually respect you and accept your business.

Our favorite part was being overcharged with full intention. We ordered a coke, a cappuccino and a filter coffee and got told that our drinks came to 9.30 Euros by the waiter, immediately after we were served (hadn't even had the first sip). We paid in cash and got change, but we never got the slip... so we asked for the slip, which much to our amusement arrived with change too... the waiter did not apologize but he did do the walk of shame whilst hanging his head in defeat! All over 0.60 cents of a Euro! The drinks were actually 8.60 Euros. I would really recommend this place, especially for those of you wanting to be taken for a ride...

So hard to find consistently disgusting food in Belgium, but Omnibus managed. We have team lunchs here because it's close to work. My colleagues drink beer which hides the taste. Their greasy Salmon Lasagna special with peas and pesto is at best a soggy soup. I left quite queasy. One can eat elsewhere in Brussels for a similar priced but better food. On the good side, the service is swift and effcient and I thought the staff friendly, and the atmosphere is pleasent. They remember your face (they'll kill me for this review), and always smile well.
