I cannot review the hostel itself, because I never slept there ! I had a valid reservation via Booking.com for 3 nights in this hostel for a private single room, however when I arrived, they had no room for me (just a bed in shared room which I rejected). They did not speak any English word, luckily a lady from the travel agency helped me. I had to wait almost 2 hours for the "manager" to arrive (they always told me he is on the way and will come in 15 or 10 minutes). Then he brought me to Hotel Majestic on the corner of next road, which belongs to him as well. And said that the next night is already secured for me, so I packed my suitcase in the morning and brought it back to El Lobo. But in the afternoon, there was again no room for me !!! Unbelievable !!! I again had to wait because they spoke to the "manager" and then a lady brough me back to Hotel Majestic. She wanted me to come back to El Lobo for my third night, but I refused and requested to stay in Majestic, because I didnt want to pack my luggage again and move it there and back. Hotel Majestic itself was OK for the price paid, but the attitude of the Hostal Lobo management is unbelievable and unacceptable and I warn everyone from staying there....
Read moreEverything was great! The entire staff, volunteers were good people, helpful! the hostel was a nice building, a nice rooftop with bar, board games, a lot of space where to relax. in the morning breakfast was included, they make eggs in the way you prefer, then you have bread jam coffee tea.. The room was big enough with a locker to store your valuable things. could be noisy because the dorm was on the main road so bring your lock and earplugs! light and socket next to your bed that was comfy and warm enough! Toilet were quiet clean not to big.. but there is toilet paper! There is also hot shower!! maybe would be nice to fix some doors and hangers! they have a board with daily activities but maybe because wasn't busy they really didn't do anything or maybe not sponsorized enough at night. perfect location, just right in the city center, behind the Wich market. they also have a restaurant at the first floor with reasonable prices but I...
Read moreFirst overcharged me on airport transport after paying correct amount upon arrival. Paying for my room the next day I noticed an additional 50 bolivianos. I was told it was an additional charge for transport?? Then the desk assistant tried to overcharge me for a tour until I brought it to her attention?? Bathrooms were dirty and garbage receptacles were overflowing with “soiled”toilet paper on the floor. Rooms had good mattress but cramped with dirty floor. I realize the hostel has an influx of hikers but other hostels clean twice a day to prevent the above. Breakfast of eggs and bread with coffee, tea, juice was descent as well as the service. The rating was a result my experience and in contrast to other hostel that I’ve used 6 months of the year for the past 12 years. I even left 2 days early and found a quiet hostel nearby with nicer accommodations. Lastly, this is the lowest hostel rating that I’ve reviewed...
