Here are my reasons for the rating I give to Hotello, and its entirely Arab management and staff:||||* sincere respect for you and your privacy||no staff member of the hotel ever makes faces of "disapproval or approval" of what you wear, your hair style, attitude; no questions, no advice, no "post" Socialist disdain for customers, no "angry maid" complex:||These people are genuinely proud of their hotel, and their work, and feel for you the genuine respect they feel for themselves.||Have never found this in international hotel chains, to be fair.||||* perfectly clean and hypoallergenic environment||no rooms, corridors, bathrooms are deluged with stinky chemicals, no need for that, as everything is just truely clean.||||* quality||badsheets, pillows, blankets, matresses, shapoo, everything is selected from proven quality brands, natural materials, and gives your body true comfort.||||* esthetic||the walls are recently refreshed, impecably, and beautifully, though without the use of expensive materials. Every look you cast on the walls of bedroom or bathroom is rewarded with a carefully selected art detail waiting to make you feel best.||||* onsite bakery for tasty and healthy snacks||snacks baked using pedantically selected healthy ingredients, and sold at symbolic prices.||No burnt oil, no stale ingredients.||The moment you place a foot inside the hotel's cafe a staff member is already next to you ready to take your offer.||||* you truely get everything the hotel has promised you||It's not just "there is an air conditioner in the room", the air conditioner is already running, the air and temperature in the room are already fresh and comfortable, long before the receptionist takes you to the room so you are sure you do like it, before you pay for it.||The hotel is situated on a very high traffic crossroads, but in your room the air is fresh and pleasant, there is no noise, and the temperature is perfect.||||* very low per night prices, every room with a private bathroom||compared with nearby Bulgarian hotels asking higher per night prices for a room sharing the same single shower with all rooms at...
Read moreHow could you get a more Bulgarian experience of customer service standards?... Arrived with a group of 20+, got told off to move out cause apparently we were blocking the floor, even though we were the only costumers and filled up the whole hostel. Then the owner closed the door behind us when he forced us out and only opened the pizza/bakery place that serves as a lobby for the hostel for locals. Then refused to serving breakfast (that is included in price) to the 20 people because of 5 minutes lateness. Then proceeded to push us off again from the "lobby" forcing us in the corridor. There were no one else in the shop. INCREDIBLY RUDE and the sad yet usual extremely poor business sens you can expect in Bulgaria (lived there for 2years+, it's not an absolute, but it's a constant). Please make yourself a favor and skip this one. The room are also unclean, built by a 5 year old. But really, the service is some of the rudest i have ever...
Read moreThis was a total disaster, if you think you just need a whatever place to crash after travelling this is not it . I reached at 2 am with the self check in instructions at hand as usual, the code for the key box was wrong and nobody picked the phone. At 3 am a couple reached with another code, luckily theirs was correct so I could get in room n 2. The walls were broken in, the shower and toilet dirty , the beds dirty, the towel bloodstained , the flooring had gaps from which insects were crawling in. I knew the area wasn't the best but has been the worst night I ever spent in sofia. Avoid it, I had to run to another hotel and lost money on one night. Don't do this to yourself, in the same street for 20eur more there are much...
