Where else can you find an air-conditioned room with ensuite bathroom, located literally in the heart of the city centre, for $12? By Khmer standards, this place is clean, the staff are friendly and helpful, and speak decent English. The WiFi is fast, and coverage throughout the hotel is good (even on the 6th floor!). Room equipped with tea and coffee, fridge, TV, etc etc - very good for a budget hotel.
Four stars for a great value hotel in an outstanding location. Some of the corridors smell a bit strange (but you don't sleep in the corridor, do you?), and there is no lift (it's good for the lungs!).
In response to other reviews condemning "pushy salesmanship" and "guilt-trip tactics" - everyone in Cambodia is trying to make a living, this place is no exception and they should not be penalised for it. You have a choice whether to purchase the service or not.
Equally, to those complaining it's noisy... you are situated in the middle of the centre of the capital city of Cambodia. It's noisy. So is Paris. And London. How could you expect it not to be?
In defence of this establishment, this is a first class budget hotel - it's not perfect, but it...

Read moreI stayed one time and it was passable, but unfortunately an Agoda partner, meaning longer than one night you have to keep changing rooms and never know if you can stay the next day nor how much it will cost, which makes the place unusable. I stayed the second time and had people staying either side of me and their noise kept me awake all night. I took my yoga mat to sleep down in reception but they wouldn't allow it, so I was basically up all night. The rooms are badly maintained. All fans are broken, many electrical sockets don't work, bust tv etc. There are also many stairs. There's a gang of staff hanging around opposite the entrance, which is in an alley and they basically s*talk all the customers coming and going, which is unwelcoming. To top it all, there was building work opposite. Will not stay again. Also, not happy with the...
