As pure vegetarian, I can confidently say that MDSK in Cambodia is the best option for anyone seeking vegan cuisine. I visit this restaurant two or three times a year, and it consistently impresses me with its outstanding quality and service.
In my previous review, I noted that the restaurant deserved more than a five-star rating, and I stand by that. Each time I return, I discover something new and delightful on the menu. The improvements in quality are evident, making every visit a unique experience.
However, I did encounter a minor issue during my last visit. Ordering online was a bit problematic, as the system required using my mobile device even while dining. This can be inconvenient, especially when hands aren't clean. Additionally, there seemed to be a lack of staff available to assist with ordering.
That said, I want to highlight an exceptional staff member miss wan. She provided excellent service and spoke fluent English, making the experience much smoother. Her knowledge about the menu was impressive, and she was attentive to our needs.
I wish this continued success and growth. With dedicated staff like miss wan, I am confident they will continue to improve their service and offerings.
Keep up the great work!
Best regards

As a pure vegetarian, I'm always cautious about dining out, worried that non-vegetarian dishes may cross-contaminate the food. However, Masala Dosa Street Kitchen is a godsend - the only 100% vegetarian restaurant I've found in Phnom Penh. This was our second visit, and I can confidently say the quality remains exceptional.
The food is simply outstanding. We ordered a variety of dishes, including a delectable Biryani, flavorful Paratha, and other protein-rich options. Every item was cooked to perfection and bursting with authentic Indian spices. The staff is also incredibly polite and attentive.
While the prices are a bit higher than other local restaurants, it's a small price to pay for the peace of mind of eating in a pure vegetarian environment. The interior is also quite pleasant, though the online ordering process could be streamlined for added convenience.
Overall, Masala Dosa Street Kitchen is the best vegetarian option in the city, and well worth the visit. I highly recommend...
Read moreThis is a restaurant that I have walked by many times and that came recommended. But somehow, an Indian meal for me includes mutton or chicken, otherwise something is just missing. As I have started 2024 on a bit of a health streak, cutting out booze and reducing meat consumption, I finally ventured into this place. What can I say, I have been missing out.
As the name implies, they serve mostly Dosas, though they also have Naan bowls, which I have not tried yet. There is no physical menu, all the ordering the is online. Once the very friendly staff explained how to go about this, the whole process is very quick and efficient. I actually like it, as it takes the waiter misunderstanding the order out of the equation. Pretty much every dish has a plethora of options when ordering, some come at a cost, some come free. I do not remember all the options, but there was the possibility to add cheese (vegetarian or real), specify whether the dish should be spicy or not, all sort of accompaniments, and so on. This sounds a lot more complicated than it actually is.
The first time I went, I ordered a Lassi with saffron. Not cheap ay $4.00 plus VAT, but really good, though it could have been a tad colder. My food was a Hummus Dosa with Amul cheese. With the extras it came to $9.75+. Again, not the cheapest Dosa in town but one of the best I have eaten. Whilst it could have been a little spicier, it was well seasoned and absolutely delicious! I walked out with a full belly, but not stuffed to the gills as is so often the case when I eat Indian, for $15.00. There are cheaper Indian restaurants in town, but very few are nearly as good as this one. I will be back. Actually, I did go back two days later and tried the Channa Masala Dosa, which was just as good.
The interior is quite funky with Indian movie and advertising posters and good A/C. The staff are super attentive and friendly and speak excellent English. They did manage to walk me through the whole ordering process, which was...
Read moreVery disappointing... All started well, ordered drinks. Whilst waiting to order food decided to take a photo of the menu for the benefit of other Google users. Owner rushed over asking for the photos to be deleted. Why? 'Maybe you will copy the menu' he replied. I countered that the menu descriptions were very generic, much the same as 1000s of Indian Restaurants worldwide, no 'trade secrets'... The owner's 'justification', a restaurant 10,000km away in London had 'copied' his menu - hardly a direct competitor... The owner became more insistent that I 'must' delete the photos. Seems he has a BIG paranoid mistrust of his customers. As I questioned his reasoning the owner puffed out his chest taking a confrontational stance, again demanding I delete the photos. With the owner's very clear mistrust of customers and his confrontational approach it was a very uncomfortable atmosphere and definitely time to leave. The BIG irony... the menu is publicly available on the restaurant's website - go figure!!... So, as for the food I cannot comment as I did not get that far, which really is a shame as I had heard good things about it... Update: subsequently the owner has resorted to Facebook publicly naming and posting photos of my 8 year old daughter (who had nothing to do with this) and stating he has 'reported us to the authorities' for the sake of a $2.95 bill - I think that says...
