The Hyatt Regency Phnom Penh is a true haven of peace in a bustling city. The reception area is housed in part of a beautifully restored colonial mansion, preserving the elegance of traditional English colonial style. The decor and furnishings are simply exceptional, creating an atmosphere of luxury, charm, and character. From the moment you arrive, you feel that you are in a place of distinction. The front desk staff is highly professional and kind, perfectly in line with the prestigious status and reputation of the Hyatt brand.
Adjacent to the historic colonial building is the modern wing, which seamlessly blends contemporary design with Cambodian tradition. This part of the hotel houses the restaurants, rooms, meeting spaces, swimming pool, and other facilities. The architecture and decor are refined and luxurious without being ostentatious, maintaining a perfect balance of elegance and authenticity.
Our room, a deluxe King Room with a view of the Royal Palace, was beautifully designed and extremely comfortable. It featured a cozy sitting area, a plush bed, a well-appointed bathroom with a shower, a bathtub, a separate toilet, and a small dressing area. The nightly turndown service, expected in a five-star hotel, was perfectly executed, adding to the overall experience of comfort and attention to detail.
Breakfast was outstanding—highly qualitative rather than excessive in quantity, which is the true mark of a luxury hotel. Everything served was of excellent quality, carefully curated under the supervision of the chef. The selection included a variety of pastries, fresh fruits and vegetables, and juices, alongside dedicated sections for Cambodian specialties and classic American-English breakfast options.
The hotel also boasts a beautiful swimming pool, an ideal spot to relax for a few hours before heading back into the lively city.
In summary, this is an exceptional five-star hotel with impeccable service, outstanding facilities, and excellent value for money. If you are visiting Cambodia’s capital, I highly recommend...

Read moreAfter an absence of almost 25 years, the transformation of Phnom Penh is beyond belief. Gone are the mats on the pavement with families gathering for an evening meal, replaced by eat in restaurants of all variety. This Hyatt Regency is one of the best Hyatt I have visited. In terms of facilities and space, it rivals many in the Grand and Park categories. The rooms are very spacious and well appointed. The pool is gorgeous and the steam room, jacuzzi, and salt inhalation room are top notch.
There are two things that can be improved further. One is the price of meals: pricey and quite ordinary sounding for the price. There was also a problem with the air conditioning in my room that took 20 minutes for me to convince guest services to send an engineer.
.......
Recently stayed here again on a work trip. Had access to the Regency lounge and the service there was exceptional. The staff went out of their way to assist and made my nightly sojourn there relaxing and enjoyable. Service at the front desk and the Metropolitan were similarly impressive. I have only two suggestions for improvement. First, front desk staff needs to be better informed on access and opening hours of nearby attractions (e.g., opening hours of the royal palace next door). Second, the breakfast is great. The croissants are the best I have had anywhere. However, I wish there were more changes from day to day. The dishes got monotonous...
