My days of staying in a hotel/motel/chalet while visiting Banff are over. Upon checking in I was given a very thorough orientation and tour of the location (well, as thorough as it could be given that I didn't arrive until the evening and it was dark).
My room, the King Suite, was warm, inviting and cozy (and also very clean). The bed was very comfortable with 6 pillows, that I swear, were all different (which was a real plus for me. I hate being given 6 pillows that are all firm, sky-high and leave me with a kinked neck). The bathroom had a large, lovely soaker tub, a separate walk-in shower and a heated floor. Everything about this room, in my opinion, was perfect. If I had to knit-pick, and trust-me this is knit-picking, a corner shelf in the walk-in shower would have been convenient as would a hook or two on the back of bathroom door.
Keep in mind that this is a Pension which means it's more communal than a hotel, if that makes sense. For example, there's no in-room coffee maker or kettle. Instead, you have the option (during off-hours) of going to the kitchen, getting yourself a french press and sipping on your cup of joe in the living room should you feel like socializing, or head on back to your room and drink it their.
Another small detail that made this place as great as it was, was the staff. Breakfast is provided during certain hours, however if you'll be out and about before it starts, the staff will put something together for you and leave it in the fridge for you to grab on your way out.
I love this place and can't...
Read moreVery accommodating, transparent and great ease with booking to check in to check out. Great amazing service that was very communicative prior to and during the stay.
The inn itself is a large house with history behind it and is beautiful in its own way. Upon arrival, you take off your shoes as you would entering anyone's home and you are greeted at the front to check in. There is then a tour of the entire place before you enter your room. The rooms itself is a large amount of space and you also don't hear your neighbours or hallway noise.
There are large windows within the inn and a large kitchen area + lounge/living room space for you to cook your own food (you have your individual storage space in the fridge) to a spot for you to sit by the fireplace to a place to simply read or play boardgames. Everyone is very respectful in this spot and despite it being an inn, didn't run into others much.
The location is very close to the town of Banff also - very casual and safe stroll at night too. There is parking on site in the back.
There is hot chocolate, coffee and tea available throughout the day. Utensil and cookware is also provided. Wifi available throughout the house. Overall a very clean inn and comfortable stay. Would highly recommend making a...
Read moreYou can only know so much going to a new place. I'm one of those types who reads everything they can on a place before I go somewhere. Unfortunately, you cannot control every variable, which is why a place like Banff Boutique Inn can not only be helpful, but essential.
My wife and I arrived and we were warmly greeted by the owners and staff. They sent us texts in advance and answered our all of our questions.
The layout of the common areas and the rooms are without a doubt, boutique. The owners have a great admiration for art and, more specifically, local artists. You will find this art everywhere in the Inn and its truly lovely.
Here are some highlights for us during our stay: Congregating with the staff daily discussing what we should do next, getting advice, etc. (Special thanks to Gabi, Eva, Maddie, and Christy) Making friends with other guests at the Inn. Waking up to wildlife outside our window. The owner driving me around Banff looking for a log to carve. Feeling like the Inn was an extension of the majesty around it.
I couldn't recommend staying here enough. It was an experience that will always...
