Steels Cafe and Grill — Restaurant in Edmonton

Poor everything-- I had booked here hoping to get a bar, restaurant and hotel in one.

I came to the door and waited for about 10 minuts- I literally left and went into the bar to look for a sever/ someone to seat me as the sign said to wait.

As you come in there is a nice display of wine- I ordered a glass from the display- they dont have that wine for sale anymore.. OKAY?? then take it down.

I ordered a Merlot in stead- that came out and it had been left open too long and had turned. I told the waitress this and she looked at me like I was crazy. I asked for a different glass. It was slightly better so I kept it- ANOTHER waitress came out and asked if the wine was better and I said I thought so, could you smell it and make sure for me? She said all red wine smells horrible and walked away.

Then my food came out-- It was luke warm Macaroni and cheese- crab and Lobster- there were still bits of shell in the mix and I bit into this quite unexpectedly. Not happy. :(

a Glass of wine and a pot of Mac and cheese should not take an hour and 15 mins to get through! The Mac and cheese was so bland I had to get up and go into the back and ask for tobasco sauce.

We have a banquet event here for our Christmas party. The food is delicious and the staff are very lovely the event itself is always a pleasure. Getting the event setup though is kind of a nightmare. The event coordinator seems to be unorganized. They always messages us at the last moment to say that they forgot to ask about how many tables or what wine we were drinking. With every change the contract would then need to be re-signed as well. I would recommend this place for a lunch or dinner but as a recurring customer for an event here it is rather cumbersome trying to deal with an unorganized...

Breakfast was okay. Service was not good. It was not busy at the time. One plate was missing potatoes, another missing toast and another came with the wrong style of eggs. Server never checked on us after bringing the food, no coffee refill was offered. When it was time for the bill, we mentioned the errors and they offered to cover part of the meals - which was appreciated, and helped the rating. The place was clean and...
