Frustrating Experience – Not What the Reviews Suggested||I stayed at Heidelberg House Apart Hotel in Santiago from May 29 to May 31. I chose this hotel based on its seemingly positive reviews, its location in a quiet area near Sky Costanera, and the fact that it is frequently used by German students, which gave me a good impression.||To be fair, here are a few positive aspects:||Great location in a peaceful, green neighborhood with easy access.||Walking distance to Sky Costanera.||Easy to find, even for first-time visitors to the city.||However, the overall experience did not meet expectations and did not reflect the reviews I had read beforehand.||Negative points:|1. Extremely difficult parking:|I rented a car during my stay, and although the hotel offers parking, it is very small, poorly designed, with pillars and walls extremely close together. It’s difficult to enter, maneuver, and exit the space without risking scratches or damage to the car, even when being very careful.||2. Disappointing breakfast:|The hotel does not serve breakfast in a common area, claiming ongoing COVID-19 restrictions, which no longer makes sense given that most hotels have already resumed normal service. Instead, they leave a small amount of food inside the apartment (bread, cheese, etc.), limited and far from enough. For the price charged, I expected much more.||3. Poor room maintenance:||The wooden flooring was loose and broken, posing a risk of tripping.||The room was very small and cramped.||The bed was uncomfortable, sagging easily and not allowing for proper rest.||The bathroom was tiny and poorly designed.||There were no decent toiletries provided (no quality shampoo, conditioner, or soap), which is unacceptable given the nightly rate.||4. Poor value for money:|Overall, the experience does not justify the cost of the stay. There are better alternatives in Santiago for the same or even lower prices that offer far better comfort and structure.||5. "OK" service:|Reception service was reasonable. One of the front desk ladies (I forgot her name) who worked until 2 p.m. was especially kind and helpful.||Final summary:||I do not recommend Heidelberg House Apart Hotel. The reviews that led me to choose this place do not reflect reality. Great, quiet location in a residential area. Within walking distance of everything we needed. Apartment did not have air conditioning but did have a fan. This did not prove to be problematic as the evening was cool enough for sleeping with only the fan running. Room was modern, comfortable, and very clean. Staff was very nice and helpful. Decepcionante. Passamos por uma situação ultrajante. O hotel de nome pomposo em alemão divulga quartos de uma maneira e, ao chegar, surpresa!, você pode ser o escolhido para subir até 4 andares sem elevador e o seu quarto ser totalmente diferente do que você reservou. Eles colocam as fotos do melhor quarto em todos os que estão disponíveis mas, chegando lá, você vai ser hospedado no que estiver livre no momento. "É uma questão de sorte", segundo explicação que nos foi dada pelo funcionário Javier. Estava descrito explicitamente quando reservamos que o quarto possuía uma varanda, estava de frente para uma rua silenciosa e que ficava no piso térreo. Ao chegar, ficamos com o quarto dos fundos, de frente para uma avenida super movimentada mesmo durante a madrugada, sem varanda e tendo que subir vários lances de escada com todas as nossas malas. Pior foi o funcionário mencionado dizer que se o problema era subir com as malas, ele poderia ajudar. Francamente, nem um pedido de desculpas ou até oferecer o reembolso (já que haviam feito minha esposa pagar para só depois ver o quarto). Isso sem mencionar a escola que fica literalmente ao lado e que certamente vai te acordar com a gritaria de inúmeras crianças de manhã bem cedo.
