My family and I (spouse, and 2 children ages 16 and 8) had a very negative experience at Nogales Hotel. The Hotel is not clean, and is in disrepair. The carpets, towels and sheets are all worn and stained, and there were many holes in the walls, particularly the hallways and bathrooms. The breakfast was awful. The coffee did not taste like coffee (not sure what it was) and the fruit was mostly bruised and over ripe (they are obviously buying the cheapest stuff available at the bottom of their suppliers' stock). The other products (tea, juices) were just clearly the cheapest brands imaginable. ||||Overall, it is clear that management is doing whatever they have to to save money, and the guest experience is secondary. On that note, the staff were very put off whenever we asked for something (like having air conditioning that worked - which it never did, or not being overcharged). We are not over demanding customers by any means. However, we were made to feel like we were a major nuisance every time we opened our mouths. Clearly the staff are not happy (presumably, the cheap owners theme carries here as well).||||Also, our first floor windows did not lock properly, and there seemed to be no evening security watching over the front desk where you were supposed to leave your very accessible room key when you went out (we did not leave our key due to security concerns).||||We expected a basic stay for the price, but a solid and comfortable hotel (we really chose it for the location). It is not any of those things, and it is grossly overpriced. ||||Our highlight of the trip was cancelling our second stay at Nogales, and we switched to the nearby higher end hotel, which gave us a similar rate to Nogales! (it was great)||||The only positive thing I can say about Nogales is that we did not see any...
Read moreThe pros: ||-The location is excellent. Located at Los Nogales, which is a very nice and quiet neighborhood, very close to the Costanera Sky, mini markets, laundry services, exchange houses and the Leones Metro station, with many bus lines going nearby. Also is a walking distance away from the Metropolitan park ||-The hotel its nice, medium sized, with good rooms. Our room had a very good size, with a sofa and a kitchenette. The bed was awesome, with large windows, and a jacuzzi bathtub (Which its awesome to relax your feet at)||-Very clean and tidy. ||-The staff was very helpful and kind, and its one of the top areas of the hotel. The receptionists will provide excellent advise, and help you choose great tour options, and destinations. They really know Santiago, and have good attitude to help. Also they will keep your luggage, even after checking out, which its awesome. ||-The breakfast was very good and complete. ||-Very quiet. This can be a con, as you can pass the hour, and waste time sleeping. ||||The cons:||- Awful WiFi, which nobody cared to fix. It doesn't work, period. As an alternative they offer you a public desktop they have in the lobby. ||- Sometimes, there is a funny smell in some halls located in the back, that someone reaches the rooms halls. ||- Awful small old TV. ||- The place its really nice, we really liked our room, but needs to be remodeled, to reach the glamour it once had. You have a kitchenette, but nothing to use it with (no glasses, plates or nothing). The carpets are quite worn out, as well as the upholstery (even the beautiful, extra comfy sofa of the rooms). Some of the furniture is broken was well. The common areas also will need this. ||||To the owners I will say, that take care of that treasure, and you can become a very well known spot in...
Read moreThe hotel has a good location, close to a metro station and some grocery stores. The place around is quiet and safe. The room is decently big and has a small kitchen. I went to the convention area because of an event , it has several rooms. It has a pool but it was empty for the days i was there.
I gave a 1 star review for a simple reason. The tv has a roku on it but the roku control was missing or the main controler was nor synchronize to it. I went to the reception because of this , the said they would send a person to the room. They did , the person was suppode to be an expert in the matter but couldn't solve the problem. He needed another control and said he would be back. He never did , more than 1 hour later i went to reception again for them to tell me that they may get a controler later or the day after. It never happened. The day of the check out i told the 3 people in reception about this. They didnt say anything , they didn't seem to care nor apologize or offered any type of compensation for not delivering a service that comes with the room i paid for. That awful service plus the lies , deserve the lowest score...
