I recently stayed at Hostel Last Hope during my trip to Puerto Natales, and I must say, it was a fantastic experience! Thanks to the amazing hospitality of the host, Diego. He was incredibly friendly and went out of his way to make sure that my stay was comfortable and enjoyable. Not only did he give me great recommendations for the W trek and places to eat/drink, but he also picked up my laundry while I was on the W trek. Without his help, my clothes would have been stuck in Puerto Natales, but he made sure to take care of everything for me.
The hostel itself was also great. It had everything I needed, including storage for the W trek, which was extremely convenient. There were many other travelers staying at the hostel, and they were all very friendly and gave me some great tips for hiking the W or O trek. The atmosphere was very relaxed and welcoming, and I felt right at home from the moment I arrived.
Overall, I had a fantastic experience at Hostel Last Hope, and I would highly recommend it to anyone visiting...
Read moreThis place is so cute and ended up feeling just like home! Massive shout out to Diego who was so welcoming and accommodating and went above and beyond to try to help us out and give us recommendations on rental gear/restaurants etc where possible. The place itself is small but cosy, the rooms are decently sized, beds are comfortable, towels and fresh linen are provided, quick laundry service is available at a reasonable price, breakfast is reasonable and self-served, and there is also a fully-equipped kitchen. There is also a cute little communal area upstairs with couches and a TV as well as numerous cute dogs and a cat who love to play. The place is situated right in the heart of Puerto Natales and is walking distance from great restaurants as well as rental places. One of the only downsides was that there are only 2 showers in the hostel (which on one occasion ran out of hot water), and so we would sometimes have to wait. A must-stay in Puerto Natales! Thanks...
Read moreThe host is a very nice person, but unfortunately there was a big bedbug problem there during my stay in early March 2024. I got over 25 bites in one night, and even when they switched us to another room with a mattress cover I woke up to more climbing up the walls in the middle of the night. While they did seem genuinely upset about the situation and offer to do our laundry to kill them, they ultimately didn't seem to know best practices with this (the most important being to run clothes in dryer in high heat for at least 30 minutes) as they extremely overloaded the dryer the left some our things out to air-dry. We spent a lot of time before our trek trying to remedy this issue. Apologies to the host because he does seem very nice and the Hostel itself is a nice place, but I would want to know about this when making my decision to stay there. From what I have seen I would imagine they need to do a...
