Monumento al viento — Attraction in Puerto Natales

The two sculptures, one male and one female, seem to play and float in the strong Patagonian winds, which are prevalent in the area and which the sculptures themselves celebrate and are dedicated to. They have been create in 2012 by the Chilean sculptor Marcela Romagnoli and have since become one of the symbols of Puerto Natales. They sit next to a small skate park and right by the water, in a wonderful spot from which to admire the gulf of Last Hope (as the gulf on which Puerto Natales sits is named) and the surrounding mountainous landscape. pretty cool monument but the statue itself is not spectacular in my opinion but i can see how a lot of people could enjoy it. it’s also fun to sit and watch the people skating and biking at the skate park but if you’re expecting a serene view of a statue overlooking the beach, it may be a bit loud...
