I unfortunately did not have a great experience with this company. I have no experience renting gear and had basic questions but sadly was met with impatience and condescending responses. During pick up, I was informed that the bus I would be taking back from the W trail typically arrives past 10 pm which is beyond the store's return time window. I wanted to arrange a gear pick up from our hostel instead but the company informed us they do not deal with our hostel and proceeded to accuse our hostel of stealing from the them. I'm unsure whether this story is true but I later discovered that our hostel also rented out gear for half the price and perhaps, the competition for business has resulted to bad mouthing other rental companies. In addition, the sleeping bags are rated -10 degrees however, I believe due to multiple washing/use, the sleeping bags could not keep me warm despite the outside temperature being just 5 degrees. I informed the staff of this and was met with no comment. Perhaps at some point this company was great given the reviews, however, the staff could really use better manners and improved customer service. With the rise of other rental companies in Puerto Natales that charge half the price, Rental Natales could do itself a favour and improve its...
Read moreWhen arriving to Puerto Notales on a last minute trip to Patagonia I was in need of gear to rent and one hostel recommended Notales Rentals. I arrived at 7pm on a Sunday on New Year's Day when most of the town was closed and was greeted by a lovely worker speaking perfect English. She didn't even make fun of my Spanish. We told her what we needed and she set us up quickly and efficiently. We told her we may get back late; she said they'd stay open until 10 to wait for us...And if we missed that time,We could return before 10am the next morning for no fee. She then showed us videos on how to set up and take down the tents as well as showed us to light the stove. When we came back to return our equipment we were greeted with smiles and a new employee who is actually the owner. He told us he used to be a guide in the park, and could no longer hike as well so he wanted to start a business to help people and give advice on trekking in the park. I had the best experience and will recommend this place to all my friends who will travel here. They accept credit cards and cash. They were a real pleasure to rent from. Me amo...

Equipment: The single tent they rent is not very good for the Patagonia winds, it kept smashing me in the face at night because it was folding on me. A chilean even came to me thinking one of the poles was broken, but it was only a very poor design. However the poles they rented us were of good quality and the rest of the cooking equipment was in working condition.
Customer service: Additionally, the black haired employee that rented us the stuff came off as a bit arrogant, giving us very little information on the material we rented and joking at the questions we asked.
When we returned the stuff, we pointed out one of the bowls had a small hole in it when we got it and he simply said it was our fault even though we could see he had broken bowls behind him ready to...
