La Ruca & Fresh — Restaurant in Puerto Natales

La Ruca and Fresh is a great spot to recharge after a big adventure, and it didn’t disappoint when we stopped by after hiking Torres del Paine—we devoured everything! The sushi plate was the star of the meal: fresh, beautifully crafted, and absolutely delicious. The creamy avocado and fresh salmon hit all the right notes. The Pad Thai, on the other hand, was just okay—decent but not standout compared to the sushi.

A fun bonus? Ordering a sushi plate gets you a discount on a pitcher of mojito or sangria! We opted for the Calafate mojito, and it was a treat to watch the staff proudly pour the vibrant, savory liquid into the pitcher right at our table—it added a special touch to the experience 😍. The mojito itself was refreshing and flavorful, making it the perfect pairing for the meal.

The space is small and cozy, and while we didn’t have trouble getting a table, it might be worth reserving during busier times. The staff was friendly, and the relaxed atmosphere added to the charm.

Where to begin? I will start with the food- it is excellent! Originally from Hawaii & having lived in Japan, I’ve had my fair share of sushi, & at Freshgourmet it is simple delicious! The Patagonian fusion with calafate, guanaco, & other local ingredients was a wonderful surprise! The calafate sour is a MUST try, of course homemade by Chef Claudio himself. Speaking of, Chef Claudio is a true gem. He is so attentive to his work, he is kind hearted & his passion for what he does shines in every dish. You will be grateful you came to support this establishment & your belly will be stoked too! Muchas gracias...

Wowza, I wasn't even planning on eating at this hour, but when I saw the place and it looked like healthy food I had to go inside. The owner just looked at me and suggested that I get the Pad Thai, which was rich and heavenly!!! They were very sweet and amenable when I asked if they had music without that loud, pounding bass.
