These are reasonably sized cabanas about a 10 minute walk from the centre of town and 15 minutes from the bus station (although the walk to the bus station isn't recommended if you have luggage other than a rucksac as it's uphill and the pavements aren't great).||||The area imediately around the complex isn't particularly appealing with a bus garage opposite and the burned out shell of a building next door. However, no great issue. ||||My cabana had a downstairs room with a 2 seater sofa and 2 arm chairs, and a dining table and small kitchen. Also downstairs was a bathroom. There were two bedrooms upstairs, Overall, good for a family or for two couples if you get on very well.||||Everything more or less worked, although there were a number of issues. Whilst the rooms had new TVs, the overall level of maintenance was poor, e.g. drawers in kittchen hanging on by a thread, broken cupboard handles, shower that alternated between scalding and freezing on its own initiative, toilet where you needed to lift the top off the cistern to grab hold of the flush mechanism etc. The place was superficially clean but then you started to notice things like hairs and squashed insects on the ceiling above the shower, dirt in nooks and crannies, etc. The biggest problem for me was the fire hazard that was the cooker. The curtains on the adjacent window hang right over the front right ring - not a good idea!||||Wifi was fast and reliable.||||When I arrived (admittedly early) my room wasn't ready but was able to leave my bag and told to come back at 1pm. Arrived back at 1.30 and room still wasn't ready.||||No English spoken.||||Overall, OK if you want a centrally situated apartment but I suspect that you...
Read moreWe & my husband´s sister have just spent 7 nights in 1 of these cabins.Although cheap and reasonally clean to start with, if had certain faults, it can slept 6 but there is only a small table and 4 chairs, a sofa and 2 easy chairs, not enough plates for us,etc, the toaster didn´t work. By far the worse was that on 2 mornings there was no hot water. Living in Chile we knew they probably worked with 45 kilo gas cylinders, so my husband got dressed and went to tell the owner, he was in bed and took 30mins to change the cylinder! This happened twice! They are building new cabins and should really think of installing piped gas!! There were 2 people to clean the cabins but, unless someone saw you go out, the cabin wasn´t cleaned. The other strange and amusing thing was we were supplied with 1 toilet roll per day, no shampoo or washingup liquid! - fortunately there is a...
Read moreI was originally offered a nice cabana but when I told the owner I had problems with stairs, he immediately changed me to a room that was entirely on the ground floor. I was travelling alone, but had a two-bedroom apartment (a double and a single) completely supplied with everything, including private bath, full kitchen, flat screen TV, dining table and everything else I could have possibly needed. man who checked me in, late in the evening did not speak English, but the daytime attendant was fluent and very helpful. Tip: If you pay with cash in Chilean Pesos, you can avoid the 19% VAT. Not true with credit card.||||Note: The bathroom was a tight fit and could use an upgrade. Not a real problem, but worth mentioning. Bring your own bar of soap! Everything else...
