I had Guanaco stew with veggies and a Calafate juice (no alcohol). I followed the recommendations of my nice tour guide to try Guanaco stew after I've tried Llama in Chile and Alpaca in Peru. People were friendly, but I think tourists get a special price tag or menu. Food was served within a few minutes (3 min) and okay, but it was pretty tough and very dark compared to other pics in the reviews. I'm not sure if this is supposed to be like this. Obviously, it wasn't freshly cooked, but it was stew, and if there isn't a high demand for it, it makes sense to precook it. To give one star would be unfair, but before I received the bill, I would have given 4 stars, but after I received the bill, I felt fairly ripped off and betrayed. I swear on the menu, it said 19.000 for the stew, and she said a side dish is included, but they charged 24.000. There were no non-alcoholic drinks on the menu, so the waitress recommended some juices, and I decided to choose Calafate. Big mistake because they charge 7.000 for all kind of juices, even apple juice (see reviews). As usual, they put the 10 % tip on it and what should I do about it, because no one is going to say no please change the bill, I don't pay the tip. So after being charged more, I could also pay the tip, which added 10 € more to my bill. And there's not much you can do about it.
But what really annoyed me most was the fact that the 2 waitresses whispered secretly after she saw my shocked face when looking at the bill and asking if the side dish was really included. Probably thinking I can't afford their wannabe-fancy restaurant....well I am travelling for 12 years non-stop and even if I don't have to actively work for my income, I am not as dumb as people think to waste it or be overcharged like...
Read moreUnfortunately, a huge let-down. We found the menu uninspiring and the dishes very boring, with no seasoning whatsoever. The quality of the ingredients (fish) is goos, but they are simply grilled on a hot plate or a pan and put on the plate, which doesn't justify the prices being higher than in other similar restaurants for similar portions and better preparations. Moreover the home made french fries were very soggy and very oily. Even after showing it to our waiter, we go no discount whatsoever (but a very small free drink offered with the bill). Price-quality ratio would be a hard 2, I am giving it three stars because of its saving grace: the excellent service, always attentive and kind. Honestly, the food is not bad per se, but I can't recommend this restaurant as we found it to be overpriced and...
Read moreWe had lunch at el Bote today and it was an exceptional experience from start to finish! The highlight of my meal was the seafood soup—it was incredibly fresh and flavorful, with a rich, savory broth that perfectly complemented the assortment of seafood. Every bite was packed with perfectly cooked shrimp, scallops, and tender pieces of fish that melted in my mouth.
Beyond the fantastic food, the service was just as impressive. The staff was attentive without being intrusive, ensuring we had everything we needed and even taking the time to make personal recommendations. It’s clear they genuinely care about their guests’ experience, which made the meal even more...
