Hostal La Morenita — Hotel in Punta Arenas

I flew through Punta Arenas on my way to Ushuaia but La Morenita was a great option.||It's an easy, direct 15 minute walk from the Bus Sur terminal. The staff (a family) are very friendly and helpful - they allowed me to change room when a dorm buddy was snoring at about 100 decibels. The 4 bed dorm I was in was spacious, with enough sockets. The bed was comfy. The kitchen was small-ish and could get crowded but it was clean. And there were also some comfy sofas to lounge on. Overall, you get the impression that you are in kind of in someone's home but without feeling like an intruder. The only downside I can mention is that there is only one...

The best hostel in Chile I've been to. Owners are very friendly, kitchen is the best hostel kitchen I've been to, very well equipped, you can really cook yourself a proper food here. Very nice, quiet and clean hostel close to the center of the city. Friendly and welcoming hosts. I'd come back anytime. Unlike the other hostel in the city, which I had to leave because of the loud guests and the owner who didn't respect other people wanting to sleep , this seems to attract very considerate and respectful guests. One of the few places in Chile where the wifi really worked with no problems. No 1 pick for me in Chile....

The location of the hostel is pretty good. There is a supermarket and restaurants nearby. The check in process was difficult due to our poor Spanish but we got there in the end. The room has 8 bunk beds and not much room for our bags. Luckily for us we were the only people staying in the room. We could not lock the main door or bedroom door.
