Hotel Isla Rey Jorge — Hotel in Punta Arenas

When I arrived I was a little concerned since I just left the Sheraton in Santiago and this was a small quaint cute property but the room looked more like a hostel, there was no fridge, microwave or blow-dryer. Generally, I assumed that single room would imply that I'd have a king bed but it was just a twin. Ok, the positives: super nice staff, I asked if they could store my food since I didn't have a fridge and they were happy to accommodate. The breakfast was included but limited hours 7-9am however they offer to pack a lunch if you have an early exit and I utilized that on most days that was very nice. The staff was super friendly which made up for the bed situation, they were glad to be of service when I asked for directions and recommendations. The property is very well located to all attractions. The wifi was great. There was always someone cleaning and they all look happy to be working which is pleasant to see. Knowing all this if you're ok with a subpar room I would support this business, if you need something a little nicer there is dreams...

Terrible place. I would not recommend anyone staying there. Staff speaks absolutely ZERO English, although this hotel seems to be popular among foreign tourists. Big communication problem. Room is extremely small. Nothing positive to point out. Shower was not working properly. Water takes ages to get hot. Bad breakfast. According to their profile , this is supposed to be a 4 star hotel, however they serve instant coffee?! Overall breakfast quality is very poor. Staff is extremely unfriendly and rude. When I kindly asked to check in (in English), the receptionist replied with a rude "NO INGLES!" Staff promised to fix the shower problem - nothing ever happened. When checking out, Staff was rude and even tried to overcharge me 4 dollars! Not a thank you, not a thanks for staying with us - nothing, Nada. The room key and the lock don't work properly, it's a challenge even to lock and open your room.

Only positive is the central location, otherwise: please avoid this place...

The location was the only good part. But the hotel is far away from 4 stars as they claim to be.

1. Front Office staff don't speak any English and are extremely rude!
2. The room I stayed was super small, and no window in the bathroom, which makes hard for ventilation, so the walls from the bathroom were all mold.
3. Very old shower which was not working properly, cold water run for over 3min before getting hot. We complaint and nothing was done.
4. Hard to lock the room, as the key doesn't work properly.
5. Breakfast: Horrible coffee, an instant coffee!!!! For a 4 start hotel as they claimed, they could at least provide a better quality of coffee and breakfast. Fruits provided were not fresh. Yogurt was standing on the table without any refrigeration. Old furniture and carpets were just laying around the breakfast room, making you feel uncomfortable with the deposit of old stuff around you while you eat.

Save your time and money and choose another place. Very expensive for what...
