Very simple hotel with clean room and bathrooms. The hotel has also a clean and equipped kitchen as an option. We were 3 in one room with bathroom, it was comfortable, beds were comfortable! It was a very quiet stay, we appreciated it. For breakfast, they had bread, egg, cheese, yogurt, milk, coffee, the same every day, what for me is ok and pretty filling for the day tours. The only down point to me was that it is a little far from the city center, we had to walk 20 min to the city center, where all agencies and restaurants are, so walking from or to the hotel with heavy backpacks for tours were a pain, and coming back at night can be dark, but it is safe. Read moreWhile super clean and has a cozy atmosphere, it can be noticed that the rooms weren't made with the help of an architect. The doors do not fall in place as they should and the overall look of the room (while it's everything clean and the beds still smell to detergent) is cheap.
It can be clearly seen that everything used in the construction was put in a hurry. Also, there is an overall lack of AC inputs and in the rooms for three people there is only one closet, leaving almost no space for the other two people.

The environment is very laid back and the room was clean and homey. For those expecting 1st world convenience well San Pedro de Atacama probably isn't for you. Everywhere there is issues with WiFi and CC machines. Your in the middle of the desert... If your looking for a very clean ,and friendly place to stay I can't recommend Hostal Sumaj more.
