The perfect boutique hotel in Santiago! Friendly, charming and safe - we spend a total of 4 wonderful nights at Hotel Casa Aure in lovely Barrio Yungay and could not have been happier! The staff was beyond nice and helpful- they even offered a brand new cod for our baby and had purchased baby food just for her! It was very sweet and much appreciated. Room was bright, clean and comfortable. I loved the modern bathroom, the lovely decor throughout the house as well as in the rooms - high quality and very elegant from flooring to light installations to furniture and wall paper. Everything looked newly refurbished and well maintained. 24h reception, 24h coffee, drinks and fresh fruit freely available, Wifi throughout the building, comfy lounge area, breakfast included. Location is perfect: Safe and quiet neighbourhood, trendy cafés, street art, parks and leafy streets, good public transportation. Would recommend this haven of a B&B to anyone traveling to Santiago de Chile! Great value for money- especially in...
Read moreVery nice and hospitable staff, and the room was very clean (the bath mat was filthy though, but the rest was great).
However, the room didn’t have a window at all, just a small skylight that could not be opened. If you look at their photos, you’ll see that they carefully selected rooms with windows — so you’d kind of expect one, especially since having a window that can open is necessary to classify a room as a room in most civilized countries (not sure what’s up with Chile in that regard). Their “room” is basically a jail cell from the 1600s.
Also no air conditioning, which is terrible when it’s in the 90s outside. I asked about a room with a window and was offered to upgrade to a room with a balcony (which still does not have AC), for an extra $40.
So for $100 total, this place is absolutely not worth it. The hotel is also far from the center and has nothing of interest nearby. I would suggest avoiding this hotel altogether, it’s not the deal...
Read moreNice hotel with some beautiful features!
The hotel as a whole is nice, it’s an old building g that has retained great looks. The rooms are small but functional and well decorated.
The only negatives are some of the doors/windows (our balcony door) are in bad condition and have large gaps letting noise through! This is a shame given the rest of the room!
The breakfast is good overall (ham & cheese or scrambled eggs) but the coffee really isn’t great which is a let down! They should get a coffee machine or make it stronger!
All in all it’s still a nice place to stay in a nice area of the city. It takes about 15 minutes to walk to plaza des Armas...
