El Chancho Seis — Restaurant in Santiago

My family and I went to the Chancho Seis for lunch. I have to say, it was the best meal that we have had during our stay in Santiago. The staff are friendly and accommodating, especially when we asked if they could make us all fresh lemonade with bottled water, instead of tap, which wasn't a problem at all. The food was fresh and tasty. I had a lovely lentil soup, followed by baked aubergine dish, with rice, which was part of the set meal. My husband ordered ravioli, from the menu, which he enjoyed. Our children especially loved the chips, which were freshly made and sprinkled with oregano. All the vegetarian food was nice. TLDR : they didn't have terremotos, the pizza was the worst I've ever ordered in a restaurant, the drinks were great.

We came for the terremotos, but they didn't have any. Then we wanted another drink, they didn't have it either. We wanted to try the mango ceviche, but they didn't have it.

The service was impersonal, the pizza was the worst I ever had in a restaurant (litteraly, tomato sauce, cheese and tomatos on a pita — something I would make myself at home when I don't have much time) and the other dish we ordered had way too much salt in it.

However, the drinks we took were really good! We just would've liked the rest to be on that level. At least the experience wasn't horrible, we just leave...

First of all, ENORMOUS food portions. Oh my god. I had the vegan pastel de choclo, which was accompanied by a huge, delicious salad of onions and tomatoes (incredibly fresh). I was also served complimentary garlic bread. I ended up barely touching the sides as I was sooooo full from the hearty pastel de choclo! I also got for takeaway a seitan sandwich (which was actually a burger as I found out) and an empanada (fried unfortunately but ENORMOUS too). The pastel de choclo was tasty, as was the burger and empanada. Great value for the amount of food served!! Lovely waitress too....
