I spent my first 3 nights in Chile in this very comfortable hotel. Francisco was a great host, and well known in the neighborhood. Upon arrival, he gave me a brief tour of the neighborhood, pointing out places to eat and drink, the best micro-market, directions to the metro, nearby museums, and the park. He also joined me for a beer one evening at the local brew pub. He speaks great English, and was very patient with my attempts to use my Spanish.||||I really enjoyed the quiet neighborhood. It is removed from the tourist areas, but the metro is a very short walk, and it is only 3 stops to downtown. The architecture of the older buildings is interesting, and murals are fun and colorful. There are plenty of great options for food, drinks, and music within blocks.||||The old building has been nicely renovated to retain its original character. My room was comfortable. I slept well. I enjoyed the rooftop deck one evening.||||Breakfast is tasty and plentiful -- locally made marmalades, yogurt, fresh fruit, toasted ham and cheese sandwiches, good...
Read moreSuch a beautiful and well decorated place. He made us feel at home for sure, helped us to describe where to go how to go, told us how to use metro and metro card, even let us barrow his metro card which is called BIP Card in Santiago. The house well located. It cost us 2500peso from the bus station and max 10mins (in September 2018). House is located 8-10 mims walk to metro station and in a safe area. He introduce us with some of his friends, bar owners, city tours etc.. breakfast was great. Please you may find a pic from one of the breakfasts. I would recommend. Price quality maybe it could be 10-15% less expensive but considering all other extras he provided, made us feel comfortable then I wouldn't mind. Thank you. Forgot to mention, the place also has a nice terrace with a beautiful view of the...
Read moreSmall B&B with open indoor courtyard in a quirky/bohemian area, with some interesting houses nearby, and various decent places to eat. About 5 minutes walk from the Metro for downtown. Francisco was an excellent and obliging host, organising taxis for us and showing us around the immediate area. Glad we stayed here as it's a part of Santiago we wouldn't otherwise have visited. We stayed for 3 nights at the start of March, and then for another night later on, staying in the ground floor room on both occasions, which is spacious with high ceilings, sofa and dining table. The rooftop terrace is a real plus, with seating for several people, and it gets the sun in the afternoon with a view of the Andes. Artistically decorated and a place with...
