Café Cité — Restaurant in Santiago

Found Café Cité while exploring hip Barrio Yungay, Chile’s first residential neighborhood which is reflected in the architecture. This barrio is also known for its vibrant street art charged with social and political messages. One covers one whole side of the exterior of Café Cité which drew us in. The inside of the cafe has an industrial feel with a concrete counter and metallic tables and chairs softened by tropical wallpaper and indoor plants

Ordered an almond latte and an espresso which came with this golden-leaf coffee spoon, which was a nice touch. Shared a vegan pistachio muffin-roll. I don’t know who thought of this combo but this needs to happen because it was good. Throughout, the baristas were singing to 2000 pop/R&B on the speakers. There was so much going on in this place and I was all for it.

Suddenly this place became a bit cold. Its public to be specific. Overall its a good place to find an standard type of coffee measured and perfectly balanced as stated by those who believe to have the perfect method from the alternative specialists. Though this might be the distinction between good or evil coffee, at the end it has become a universalized form of coffee prep. Conclusively, this is one of the top coffee shops in the area if you seek for high coffee standards based on the European and Northamerican conceptions. Pésimo!!!!! Nunca dejo malas reseñas porque no me gusta tirar mala onda a los lugares, pero hoy salí demasiado enojada. Primero la atención pésima, la barista/garzona súper desagradable para atender. Le pregunté si tenían leche vegetal y casi me ladra que no. (lo encuentro básico si es que se jactan de tener opciones veganas). Luego el café (pedí un espresso) ultra ácido. Esto no lo veo algo tan importante porque sé que hay gustos y gustos, a mí en general no me gusta el café ácido, en este caso encontré que era mucho, aunque creo que debí preguntar más sobre el café con el que trabajaban. Y lo que terminé de odiar fue la comida. Dentro de las pocas opciones veganas que tienen es un pan pita con hummus de 6200 pesos. Si bien de sabor no estaba malo, encuentro que cagarse con el hummus que es de lo más barato que puedes echarle a un pan es ya pasarse demasiado. El pan venía con suerte pintado en el hummus y un par de verduras salteadas encima, creo que además no saben preparar hummus porque la textura era un tanto harinosa (lo poco que pude notar, ya que de verdad la cantidad era ínfima). Creo que si vas a agregarle tan poco producto, por último cobra menos, o ponle otro nombre, porque hummus tenía casi nada.
